Nexus Family Healing - Gerard Campus

What were once frequently vandalized Austin Utilities boxes are now vibrant works of art, bringing color, creativity, and positivity to the Austin community. This project builds on two successful pilot programs from 2025 and reflects Austin’s continued commitment to public art, youth engagement, and neighborhood beautification. By transforming these everyday spaces, we’re fostering civic pride and celebrating the incredible talent in our community.

A special congratulations to Josie, the artist behind the piece installed near the Austin Public Library MN! Her artwork was submitted by our Art teacher, Ryan Endersby, and selected for this exciting project. Though she recently moved back home, Josie made the trip to Austin for the unveiling-and we’re so glad she did!

Congratulations, Josie, and thank you for representing us so beautifully!

This project was made possible by the voters of Minnesota through grants from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.

Last week we had the pleasure of one of the Austin Police Department - Minnesota Community Service Officer's, Michael Hanson, stopping by to spend time with our youth to just get to know them and build positive relationships. Many of our youth have not had positive experiences with Law Enforcement so this is a great way to help change their perception of what the officers are really like. Thank you CSO Hanson!
Since this is National Police Week 2026, we want to take this opportunity to thank all of our local police officers for all they do to keep our community safe! We appreciate you all!

Today Lorna Lauinger from Wagon Wheels HUB presented to our therapists about Equine Therapy and how it could benefit our youth. We are always looking for more ways to reach the youth in our care and help them to heal and learn. Equine therapy is known to provide a sense of well-being and improved self-confidence. It also improves emotional control and self-discipline. Thank you, Lorna, for this informative presentation.
