Last weekend I had a number of engagements. Typically, when folks call upon me to be part of their event, it is for me to do tarot, palm, or rune readings. Of course, this is something a truly love doing, but a wonderful group of fellows approached me with an interesting request.

A small group that was in town to celebrate the forthcoming matrimonial vows their dear friend would be taking, wanted to know if I would be able to teach a short introduction to the Theory of Magick. Without hesitation, I said, "Yes!"

When I arrived that weekend, I was delighted to meet with a group of very intelligent, extremely interested fellows. Their questions were probing, and I honestly wanted the discourse to continue well into the night. (Truth be told, they nearly missed their next appointment, as we were all so engaged.)

I love this sort of exchange. May more of my nights be filled with such. 🖤

What is a "Witch's Familiar" and how is it different than a pet?

Put simply, a Familiar is any animal that regularly is present in or around your magickal workings that also adds energy to the magick. All pets can add energy occasionally, but may not be a familiar. You will know the difference due to the intensity of energetic connection you have with the animal in general, which is intensified during your workings.

It is possible to have more than one Familiar, especially throughout your lifetime.

I love vultures. They are such amazing birds, and so largely misunderstood. They serve a very important purpose in the environment, as well as being a beautiful spiritual symbol of transition and healing.
