My journey into medicine was shaped by a passion for helping others, which was cultivated during a transformative mission trip to Zambia, Africa, during my time as a student-athlete at the University of Texas. This experience instilled in me a sense of purpose and reinforced my dedication to pursuing a career in orthopedic surgery. As a former high school and collegiate football player, I have a first hand understanding of what it takes to stay in the game or get back to it. An MCL knee injury at the state championship football game my sophomore year of high school is what sparked my interest in orthopedics. It was orthopedic surgeons that got me back on the field and on to the University of Texas where I played as a running back during my college career. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with athletes at their most critical moments, providing immediate care on the sidelines. This hands-on experience has enriched my understanding of sports-related injuries, allowing me to tailor treatments that facilitate a swift but safe return to sports. My goal as your orthopedic surgeon is simple: to empower you with knowledge, provide compassionate care, and work towards achieving the best possible outcomes for your health and well-being. With a commitment to excellence and a patient-centered approach, I am here to support you on your journey towards recovery and improved quality of life. I look forward to working with athletic facilities to improve preventative care and overall recovery from sports injuries. Contact me if you're interested in a partnership.

Celebrating Men's Health Month with an inspiring testimonial from Travis Moore, Owner and Head Coach at Legends Jiu Jitsu and Fitness! Turning setbacks into comebacks! 🥇🤼

Here’s his testimonial:

“I am Travis Moore, the Owner and Head Coach at Legends Jiu Jitsu and Fitness. I am also a professional grappler and former MMA fighter and champion. Back in 2018, while preparing for a major event set to be featured on UFC Fight Pass, I experienced a serious knee injury. As an athlete, I initially tried to brush it off, but this injury significantly impacted both my professional career and daily life. After a couple of weeks, I realized I needed to see a doctor.

I am incredibly thankful that the doctor I was referred to was Dr. Robin. Not only did he treat me promptly, but he also did so with great care and a strong commitment to getting me back into my sport. After an MRI, I was diagnosed with a torn meniscus. Dr. Robin thoroughly explained all available options, and together, considering my goals, we decided that surgery was the best course of action.

Dr. Robin scheduled my surgery quickly and ensured I was comfortable from the moment I arrived until he met with me post-operation. He showed me photos, discussed the details of the procedure, and outlined the rehabilitation process. Within a couple of days, I was walking again, and within two weeks, I was back at work instructing. At 4-5 weeks post-surgery, I was able to spar again.

My knee has been issue-free for six years now. During this time, I have competed and won professionally at a world-class level, including many events on UFC Fight Pass. I have also medaled and won multiple events on the world stage, and coached many of my athletes to world championships.

I can say without a shadow of a doubt that having Dr. Robin as my doctor made all the difference in my recovery, allowing me to return quickly and effectively to a high level of performance. As an athlete who relies on professional training, having this trust in my care provider is essential.”

- Travis Moore

This Men's Health Month, I urge all athletes and active individuals to make their physical and mental well-being their top priority, as they are your most valuable assets.🥋
