ALS Caregiver Support Group of Austin, TX

ALS Caregiver Support Group of Austin, TX This group offers support for caregivers of family members and loved ones living with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, a.k.a. "Lou Gehrig's Disease."

It's not easy caring for someone with ALS (a.k.a. Lou Gehrig's Disease), and one of the biggest challenges is taking care of yourself so that you can take care of your loved one. We are a group of local ALS caregivers who meet once a month in South Austin to provide mutual support, share experiences and insights, and learn how to better take care of ourselves. Our group is remains available to members whose family member has died from ASL and seeks grief support. We meet on the first Thursday of the month from 12:30 to 2:30 pm in a private therapy office (on Bee Caves Rd in the Westlake part of Austin, 78746). Please call 512-350-8505 for address. There is no cost to attend, although donations are accepted to cover basic expenses. Jinji Willingham, a local psychotherapist, facilitates our meetings as a community service. Meetings are for caregivers only and focus on caregiver support. For more information, please contact Jinji Willingham, Jinjionline@gmail.com
