Whole person care means we look beyond isolated symptoms.

Your body is not a collection of separate parts. Your hormones, digestion, immune system, stress levels, sleep, and mental health are connected.

Instead of asking only “What is the diagnosis?” we also ask “What is influencing this?”

Whole person care considers your history, lifestyle, environment, and physiology together.

Because sustainable healing happens when the full picture is understood.

If you are looking for a more comprehensive approach to your health, we are here to support you.

Anti-inflammatory living is not about perfection.

It is about small, consistent habits.
Nutrient dense foods.
Quality sleep.
Movement that supports your nervous system.
Stress awareness.

Inflammation is influenced by daily choices. The good news is that so is healing.

Texas allergies aren’t always just a “short season” problem. For many people, it can feel like one trigger ends and another begins. 🌿🤧

Cedar, juniper, mold, dust, grasses — different allergens peak at different times of year. If you don’t know your specific triggers, it’s easy to feel like you’re stuck in a constant cycle of congestion, sinus pressure, fatigue, and brain fog.

The key is getting ahead of it before symptoms are in full swing.

Allergy testing helps identify what your immune system is actually reacting to, so care can be more targeted and proactive instead of reactive. When you understand your patterns, you can start supporting your body before the worst flare-ups hit.

That can mean fewer miserable weeks, better energy, and more control over how you feel throughout the year.

If you’re tired of guessing every allergy season, getting answers now can make a big difference in the months ahead. 🤍

Heart health is more than just your total cholesterol number. ❤️

During Heart Month, it’s a great time to remember that cardiovascular risk is influenced by multiple systems in the body — not just one lab value.

At West Holistic Medicine, we often look deeper when evaluating heart health, including areas like:

🩸 Blood sugar & insulin patterns
Imbalances here can affect inflammation, weight, and cardiovascular risk over time.

🌡️ Stress hormones
Chronic stress can influence blood pressure, blood sugar regulation, and metabolic health.

🧪 Inflammation markers
Levels of systemic inflammation can play a role in how blood vessels function.

🧬 Advanced lipid testing
Beyond standard cholesterol, advanced markers can give more detail about lipid patterns and overall risk profile.

This deeper look helps create a more personalized prevention plan — whether that means focusing on nutrition, stress support, movement, sleep, targeted supplements, or medications when appropriate.

Heart disease develops over time, and prevention works best when we look at the full picture, not just one number on a standard panel.

If you’ve ever been told your labs are “fine” but you still want a clearer understanding of your long-term heart risk, a more detailed evaluation may be worth discussing. 🤍

Ready to feel better in a way that actually makes sense for your life — and your body? 🌿🤍

Integrative health looks at how everything is connected instead of treating each symptom in isolation. Because your gut, hormones, immune system, stress levels, sleep, and inflammation patterns all influence each other.

Instead of asking, “How do we quiet this one symptom?” we ask,
“What’s driving this, and how can we support your whole system?”

That often includes:
• Personalized care plans based on your history, labs, and lifestyle
• Nutrition and lifestyle support that’s realistic and sustainable
• Targeted testing when it helps clarify the bigger picture
• Natural therapies when appropriate
• Conventional treatments when they’re the right tool

It’s not about choosing between modern medicine and holistic care — it’s about using the best of both in a thoughtful, coordinated way.

When care works with your lifestyle instead of against it, change feels more doable and results feel more sustainable.

If you’ve been managing symptoms but still don’t feel like yourself, this kind of whole-body approach may be the missing piece. 🌿

Sneezing, congestion, body aches… is it cedar fever, a cold, or the flu? 🤧🌿🤒
This time of year in Central Texas, it can be hard to tell the difference.

Here’s a simple way to start separating them:

🌿 Cedar (seasonal allergies)
• Sneezing, itchy or watery eyes
• Congestion and sinus pressure
• Scratchy throat
• Usually no true fever
• Symptoms can linger as long as pollen counts are high

🤒 Flu
• Sudden onset
• Fever (101°F or higher)
• Body aches and chills
• Fatigue that can feel intense
• Cough and respiratory symptoms

🤧 Common cold
• Milder than the flu
• Runny or stuffy nose
• Sore throat
• Usually little to no fever
• Symptoms tend to build gradually

Allergies can still make you feel run down and foggy, but a true high fever is more of a sign your body is fighting an infection rather than reacting to pollen.

If you’re dealing with ongoing symptoms and aren’t sure what’s triggering them, testing and a personalized plan can help you stop guessing and start feeling better. 🤍
