One of EMX's key focus areas is joint stability, a crucial component of movement quality and injury prevention. This becomes a primary focus in Phase 2 of the EMX process as we build on the foundation established in Phase 1.

But what exactly is joint stability? Joint stability is how well a joint stays in place and moves safely without feeling weak or wobbly. It relies on strong muscles, supportive ligaments, and good body awareness to keep everything working together. Having good joint stability helps prevent injuries, reduce pain, and keep you moving comfortably. That’s why improving stability is so important—not just for sports and exercise, but for simple daily movements like walking, sitting, and standing. Below are two of several key areas we focus on strengthening to support and stabilize the body during functional movements—such as transitioning from sitting to standing, also known as a squat.
