The chest fly is great for strengthening and building the chest muscles: here is how to master this movement:
π₯ Starting Position: Lie flat on a bench with a dumbbell in each hand, palms facing each other.
π₯ Arm Placement: Extend your arms above your chest, but maintain a slight bend in the elbows.
π₯ The Movement: Slowly lower the weights out to the side in a wide arc until you feel a nice stretch in your pec muscles. The arms should remain in the same, slightly bent position throughout the exercise, with movement coming only from the shoulder joint.
π₯ Finish: Bring the dumbbells back up to the starting position, using your chest muscles to drive the motion. Imagine you're hugging a large tree or flapping your arms as if to attempt flying.
