The Capital Area Council of Governments' Area Agency on Aging supports the health, safety and well-being of older adults in a Texas 10-county region, including Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Llano, Travis, and Williamson counties. Funded by federal and state programs, AAACAP offers services at no cost to eligible consumers in Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Llano, Travis and Williamson counties. Services include programs such as Information, Referral & Assistance; Benefits Counseling; Caregiver Support; Care Coordination; Falls Prevention/Health & Wellness; and Long-Term Care Ombudsman.

The Area Agency on Aging of the Capital Area is truly honored to be celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Older Americans Act, because it is what guides us in providing our services to our communities and neighbors throughout the 10-county CAPCOG region. We are are proud to be supporting all older adults, their families and their caregivers.

On this day in 1965, the Older Americans Act was signed into law, launching a national commitment to helping older adults age with dignity, independence, and good health. For 60 years, the OAA has powered local services like meals, transportation, caregiver support, elder justice, and more.
