It's Wellness Wednesday! 🫶

Last week, we talked about the 🔴 Root Chakra which is linked to stability and security.

🧡 The Sacral Chakra is located just below the navel. This chakra is the center of our emotions, sexuality, and creativity, and plays a crucial role in our ability to enjoy life and form healthy relationships.

Signs of Imbalance...

Underactive Sacral Chakra: Lack of emotional expression, low energy, low libido.
Overactive Sacral Chakra: Emotional overreactions, dependency issues, excessive mood swings.

How to Balance...

Hydrate and orange foods - oranges, carrots, and sweet potatoes.
Creative activities - paint, draw, dance, sing.
Yoga poses to try - Cobra (Bhujangasana), Goddess Pose (Utkata Konasana)

Don’t hate, meditate.

It's Wellness Wednesday! 🫶

In the coming weeks, we'll dedicate Wednesdays to the health of our chakra system.

🔴 Your Root Chakra (Muladhara) is located at the base of the spine and forms our foundation. It is associated with feelings of safety and is crucial for building our life’s stability and security.

Signs of Imbalance...

Underactive Root Chakra: Feelings of anxiety, insecurity, and fear.
Overactive Root Chakra: Aggressiveness, anger, and greed.

How to Balance...

Get grounded - gardening, walking barefoot, meditation.

Red foods and decor - apples, beets, red light.

Yoga poses to try: Tadasana (Mountain Pose), Malasana (Garland Pose), and Balasana (Child’s Pose).
Essential oils/stones: Cedarwood, vetiver; red jasper or hematite.

By nurturing your Root Chakra, you can restore balance and cultivate a deeper sense of peace and stability in your life. 🌍✨

Ever feel overwhelmed by the noise and demands of the outside world? Here is a lesser-known component of yoga that involves withdrawing your senses from external chaos: Pratyahara.

Pratya-what?
Pratyahara translates to "withdrawal of the senses." This is the fifth limb of Patanjali's Ashtanga Yoga and is a critical step in the journey toward deep meditation and heightened sensory control.

Why Practice Pratyahara?
It enhances focus.
It reduces anxiety.
It boosts self-awareness.
It's a wholesome experience.

How Do I Practice Pratyahara?
Sit and close your eyes. If you can, try to replace the sound that you hear with sounds that you imagine, such as beach waves. Maybe eventually, you will smell and taste the saltwater.
