Admittedly, when I tell my clients and supervisees that I'll be taking off this long, I feel the need to over-explain, over-justify, and minimize my need to take time off. But everyone has been overwhelmingly supportive before I can even finish these people-pleasing statements.

And for those who may be confused. I'm STILL in my doctoral candidacy. The fellowship was just an external program I applied to for extra research grants, opportunities, and dissertation help. But because it was government funded, they explicitly told us we could not do our dissertations on marginalized populations. To which I said UP YOURS and basically rage quit.
•

We're living in a time where the marginalized are becoming even more silenced. WAKE UP. Voting is not every four years, not every two years, it is EVERY YEAR. Our voices are still valid and they deserve to be heard. We are NOT going anywhere no matter now much they try to censor, silence, or erase us.
