There are very few things that really irk me but this is a BIG one: DO NOT say "I’m sorry, 'but'".

I’m sorry is an acknowledgment that you messed up.
Following it up w “but” means you’re either making a justification (excusing your F-up) AND/OR: the apology is perfunctory.

EITHER WAY: STOP!

DO THIS: apologize: I’m sorry. I messed up. I will do my very best to not do _____ again. No excuses. It really is liberating!

SIDE NOTE: my-know-it-all kids KNOW this! I sat them both down and told them the three most important phrases (I think):
1. I love you
2. I’m sorry
3. I don’t know.

This is not workout about posture or pilates.
This sh*t is real life…but with funky music!

I was not feeling motivated so I asked one of my loves to give me a core workout… I got sidetracked as you can see!

Sometimes we all need a little bit of a push.
Even though I love moving my body around/exercising, I still get tired and don’t feel like it!

✨I get out of bed at 415ish daily because I know I’ll feel better.

✨I eat veggies bc I know it’s great for my body.

✨I do cardio bc it’s great for everything…literally everything: mind, body, spirit.

Life can be utilitarian sounding or…we can make fun out of the “have-to” which turns into “want to” over time.

There will absolutely be a time when I cannot do all of this. That’s the truth! So I’m gonna pull my Pilates body out of bed, get my day going, and get my sweat & workout on!

I’m gonna stave off that “can’t do” time for as long as fing possible…it’s a conscious choice - yall! It’s work. It’s love of life. It’s real life!

It’s your choice.

Now! Go find yerself some groovy tunes and dance like no one’s watching…except all yall out there!

It really is the little things that make the biggest difference:
Having the door held open/sweet manners
Puffy clouds & pink skies,
Butterflies,
Random smiles,
Giggling
Flowers

I often buy myself flowers (always have!) bc I they make me smile.
This tiny bouquet of ranunculus lasted over a week and just made me SO happy! I also love the way the light felt in this pic.

I encourage ALL of you to do this. It's right up there with dancing for zero reason and complimenting a stranger.

"Outlove"
I was told that this is how we "should" be in relationships if we're to survive them and I loved the way that it felt. Still do!

My "ships" (relationships, friendships, situationships etc.) that work the best are the ones where we "outlove" each other. It doesn't mean equality. It means that we care about the other person so much that we genuinely, and without judgment, want the best for the other.
Our words and actions come from and go to a place of respect.

You know? It's actually a really interesting way to move forward in the world; knowing that the people in your life are there for the same reasons.
My momma was right. Again. It really is: "you are who your friends are".

It takes a sh*tton of work to be AND stay centered and grateful.
It isn’t an epiphany where you wake up and bam! you’re done and the rest of your life you’re at peace…like I thought it would be!
Some days are a-count-my-blessings-as-a-means-of-survival-day and some days it’s a flow.

I have a few loves (and a badass therapist) to whom I turn when I need extra support. We text/chat and sort. We coach each other and without judgment.
Oh and btw, it’s really f’ing tough to NOT judge and find others who are committed to doing the same. Literally, I have four? maybe five? people to whom I can call and have this kind of relationship.
It’s a moral imperative for me bc I wear my heart right out there on my sleeve. I also have zero poker face and quite frankly, I’m not interested in finding one. It’s easier for me to move forward as this Karen (not the other Karen! Ha!)

Truth is, I have very little filter from my brain out my mouth…some call it “transparency” while others call it “vulnerability”. Either way: my lack of having a “speed bump” from brain/heart out the mouth has actually “forced” me to live more intentionally.

1. My intentions are always with love thus, I’m doing my BEST

2. I mess up. I apologize (which means I’m going to do my best to NEVER do that again) and move forward.

3. I choose my words intentionally as they can’t be taken back...

4. NO REGRETS. If we were all to move forward with the aforementioned, why regret? I did the best that I could, with love and know that I’m fallible.

5. LAST BUT NOT LEAST: yep, be grateful. Make a list, talk/share about what makes this list!

As we embark on this holiday season and having ALL endured a pandemic, the fallout from the pandemic, wars, a new presidency and so much more!
Let us focus on what we can: make our own peace, happiness and have the power to emit/share love.

It’s a choice. It doesn’t come easy but as far as I'm concerned, worth it -
as I’m not interested in the opposite.

AKA: what's your reason? Your why?

I believe purpose is ever-evolving and a moral imperative for one's own peace.

My sweet Aga said that she was listening to this woman speak about purpose and she said it’s being all the things that you are in every moment. I like that too!

We both believe that if we are in our zone; living aligned with what’s true to us, we have influence on others and inspire them to be more.
We're resonating at a higher energetic frequency thus, emitting that and people feel it!

That sounds pretty woo woo but haven't you ever noticed that when you're out there just feelin all good and sassy that you have more fun interactions w people?! 🦄

PS. if you think this energy thing is crap: you talk on a phone, without wires, to people all over the world, in less than a minute, every dang day!
Just bc you cant see it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Let's go on the proverbial limb and even say we're "Pavlov's dogs"? We're still learning by repetition snd reinforcement.

If you are NOT learning how to help yourself live in the world as a well (mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally) & happy human, then consider that you are selling yourself short on this wellness/life thang?

IMO, we all MUST learn our bodies.
You may learn ALL the fun stuff about your car(s) or work, but you don't get to turn in your body like you do your car(s) or your job.

COMING CLEAN: I haven't been doing my weights regularly.
Sure, I get my sweat-on most days, paddle board, stretch, roll, Pilates etc. However, I'm 56 and KNOW my metabolism and bone density needs good ol weight lifting.

I decided I would do multi-jointed exercises all in one super-set for the duration of a song. What the heck does that mean? I basically grouped a few exercises together to make a series that lasts the length of the song!

Donna Summer: Independance Day is 5 minutes for example and just really freakin fun song!
Oh and I'm sore AF every time - which really means my body has missed weights!
