Scar tissue is a form of fibrous connective tissue that replaces the normal elastic and flexible soft tissues when it forms in an injured area.

Scar tissue can restrict movement, reduce range of motion and cause pain. When scar tissue is exposed to pressure through massage, it breaks down and responds with a blood flow increase that helps heal damaged tissues.

Not only does massage feel good, but it helps heal scar tissue over time and with repeated sessions.

Did you know?!Massage helps your body enter a deep sleep by producing serotonin, a neurotransmitter in the brain. Serotonin is believed to be the area of the brain that facilitates entering into deep sleep, which explains why massage is so effective for insomnia. The brain also uses serotonin to produce melatonin, another neurotransmitter that affects sleep patterns and helps people stay asleep all night long. Fascial tissue is a soft connective tissue that surrounds muscle, organs and other complex tissues. Myofascial release therapy is a combination of massage techniques that works by separating the layers of fascia to relieve pain and movement restrictions. It's useful for treating skeletal muscle immobility and pain by relaxing contracted muscles, improving blood and lymphatic circulation and stimulating the stretch reflex in muscles! I love educating my clients on the different "positive" and "negative" pressure techniques I use to help open up fascial tissue. Schedule a massage today to find out if you're fascial tissue is keeping you stuck! https://kineticbodymind.as.me/
