You’re missing a huge opportunity

Coaching forms (application, intake, check in) should be PART of your coaching process

aka ^ they should be doing work for you. Increasing sign ups, helping clients get results.

The easiest way to add in mindset and behavior change work into your coaching, is to upgrade your forms.

And that’s exactly what my most popular mini course, Transform Your Forms 📋✨ is designed to do

Of course, the mindset and behavior change work shouldn’t just stop there though…

You need to understand the psychology of how to sign more clients 💰

You need to know how to diagnose self sabotage (and help your clients breakthrough it) ⚡️

and of course, must gave a foundational understanding of the science behind real mindset coaching (not just woo woo “believe in yourself type of fluff coaching) 🧠

Right now, you can get alllllll of that AND save $300 with my mini course bundle deal!

Offer expires Sunday 4/12 at midnight ⏰👀

Ehhhh, this audio is missing the mark.

The classic David Goggins-esque message of DISCIPLINE OVER MOTIVATION will probably never die.

And hey, I get it.

Motivation can feel fleeting.

And there will be plenty of times you don’t WANT to do something, but NEED to get it done anyway.

But here’s the thing 👇

Self-Determination Theory (decades of research on this) tells us a different story: Motivation DOES MATTER.

However, where you get that motivation from… that’s what needs to be considered most.

🚫 Motivation from external rewards, avoiding punishment, supporting your ego, seeking approval from others… that’s not reliable and won’t support long term behavior change.

✅ Motivation based in personal values, identity, enjoyment, satisfaction… that that WILL keep you going.

Bashing motivation and telling people that they “just need to be more disciplined” is not productive.

And honestly? Can do more harm than good.

Instead the focus should be on developing more internalized forms of motivation.

^ If you’re a coach, or anyone who supports other people with behavior change, you need to be doing this with your clients.

When motivation comes from a supportive place… notice how you suddenly become so much more “disciplined” 😉

There is SO much that health and fitness coaches can learn from psychology.

And there is SO MUCH that coaches cannot do.

Understanding the difference is extremely important.

Coaches should understand the science and strategy behind behavior change and mindset shifts to help clients achieve health and fitness goals.

Coaches should not be attempting to help clients with mental health conditions.

Be an effective coach AND know when to refer out. ❤️

Coaches, pay attention to this 👇

The labels your clients put on themselves.

The language they use to describe themselves.

This isn’t an opportunity to tell them to “think differently” or that it’s “not true”

And it CERTAINLY isn’t something to brush aside or ignore.

Many of your clients are struggling to change their behaviors because their beliefs about who they are don’t match those behaviors.

If your clients think “emotional eater” is part of who they are, then they’ll unconsciously try to keep proving that right.

As a coach, one of the most powerful things you can do is help your clients see these beliefs as stories built by things that have happened, not something that defines WHO they are.

Swipe to see how this actually shows up and check out this week’s new podcast episode for what to do about it 👉 Comment MONDAY and I’ll send you the full episode 🎧

Calling it an “excuse” might make YOU feel better…

…but it doesn’t help your client change.

Labeling the behavior doesn’t solve the problem.

Seeking to understand WHY the behavior happened (or didn’t) - that’s what you should be focusing on.

The worst thing you can do is ignore what your clients are saying and brush it off as an excuse.

If you ignore it, you’re missing an opportunity to dive deeper and gain important information about your client, their life, and what they need in order to be successful.
