Recalibrate provides stress relief, mindfulness, and self care services to modern busybodies -- delivering easy-to-learn, science-backed tools that help people recalibrate -- to think clearer, feel better, and live optimally.
To bring self-care into the mainstream
To fight stigmas with science. We could all be taking better care of ourselves, and we should be leaning on science to improve our health rather than letting social stigmas stand in the way of living better.
To establish more meaningful connections and experiences
what makes us different
Recalibrate avoids the esoteric words and practices that often make self care, mindfulness, and stress relief feel too "woo woo" and inaccessible. We focus on pragmatic science, relevant applications, and concise communication to best help clients think clearer, feel better, and live optimally. See our client testimonials here!
what is "neurowellness"?
Neurowellness is a term we use to describe our all-encompassing biological focus across all the systems that dictate our thinking, stress, and emotions -- the brain, nervous system, and neural networks.
All of us experience the internal processes of thoughts and feelings -- but most of us don't have much understanding of how to healthily manage these things. That's where Recalibrate fills the gap. Our methods of mindfulness, self care, and stress relief are rooted in science first -- addressing all the parts of the entire nervous system that dictate patterns of thought and emotion -- equipping our clients with the mental and physical tools to think clearer, feel better, and live optimally.
how we started // our founder
Founder Gloria Chan is a former management consulting executive with nearly a decade of experience, owning a multi-million-dollar P&L, directing project delivery, and working directly with Fortune 50 to 500 CXOs in technical, strategic, and operational capacities. A sample of previous clients include Comcast, UnitedHealth Group, Spectrum, and USAA while at Sense Corp. Prior to consulting, Gloria worked in M&A and corporate finance.
In 2018, after an unexpected medical battle, Gloria realized how lacking but needed science-based stress management was in today’s high-pressure world. Discovering a new passion, she pursued formal education in neuroscience-based mindfulness and soon after, she decided to leave the corporate world to establish Recalibrate, on a mission to help people think clearer, feel better, and live optimally.
Gloria's formal education includes:
Neurowellness & Mindfulness
Mindfulness Teacher Certification via the 160-hr SOMA (Science of Mindful Awareness) Meditation Teacher Training at The Mindfulness Center in Washington, D.C.
Enrolled in Fall 2018 Coherence Therapy training led by renowned clinicians Dr. Tori Olds and Dr. Sydnor Sikes. Coherence therapy works with the human nervous system to uncover and integrate unconscious beliefs that cause current dysfunction or suffering.
