Sept 18th was the 1 year anniversary of opening our physical store on South Lamar (Inside the Succulent Native), November will mark 5 years since I began the formulation process and March will mark my 5th year since starting HKH! I look forward to growing and helping more people live their happiest and healthiest lives.

Hello Friends. I am Lady Laran, the owner and formulator of Happy Karma H**p in Austin, Texas. I started HKH in November of 2017 and opened in March of 2018.

My education and background is in music and bodywork. I’ve been a professional vocalist and massage therapist for almost 26 years. I’ve sung with Patrice Pike almost every Thursday at the Saxon Pub in Austin, for 10 1/2 years.

Throughout the years of working with massage clients and personal experiences, I grew to have an appreciation for all forms of healing. Bodies aren’t one-size-fits-all, so neither is how they grow, heal or reach and maintain wellness.

To me, music is one of the necessities for wellness, in addition to plant therapeutics. Music is a great tool. It provides a total brain workout. Research has shown that listening to music can reduce anxiety, blood pressure, and pain as well as improve sleep quality, mood, mental alertness, and memory.

There are times where we just want to feel…better…we may or man not have specific “things” bothering us, but we know we just want to feel better.

Your wellness is personal and specific to you. How your body and mind handle stressors is most likely different from others. This is the beauty of the human body. And our inner workings are as unique to us as our thumbprint.

Gosh, change is so dang hard sometimes. And sometimes it can be big, loud, ungrounding and super scary. One huge lesson I’m still learning daily is that life BEGINS at the edge of your comfort zone and once you take the leap, something amazing is on the other side you’re jumping into.

The universe/God pushes (and sometimes CATAPULTS) us in completely opposite trajectories than we were going to shake us up, stir old s**t up so we can see and deal with it, then lands us somewhere brand new, then says, “Now, deal with it”.

Change is the only thing we can count on happening. So, I’m learning to breathe, not freak out as hard 😬 and try to go with the flow with trust that I’m being led to new greatness.

Trust the process. You (and I) are EXACTLY where we are meant to be and nothing is wrong.

As founder of Happy Karma H**p (), I’d like to be the first to say Happy Father’s Day!!! My dad has always been the biggest supporter in my life, until I got married, of course. Dad taught me that women are strong and smart and fearless. That we can do anything we want to, that we should be paid just as much for doing it and that our bodies are ours to make our own decisions about. He taught me that if I wanted to get married and have kids, I could, but that I didn’t need a man to complete myself or my life. Thank goodness for that one 😉 My dad is a big women’s rights advocate and political activist. He urged me to start my own company (HappyKarmaH**p.com) from scratch in order to provide you something honest and pure. He also is attending his first PRIDE this year to register people to vote. I love my dad and am so proud to call him that. We all have beautiful flaws. He included, but I could not have chosen better, myself! Thank you, Dad!!!
