Independent Therapy Providers Association

Independent Therapy Providers Association ITPA is a trade association advocating for SLPs, OTs, and PTs in private practice. WHY ITPA? ITPA is a 501(c)6 non-profit organization.

HISTORY

ITPA was founded as a professional association for speech, occupational, and physical therapists in private practice. Created in response to a void among associations representing therapists within this industry, the ITPA offers a singular voice for therapists in private practice who provide services and operate therapy clinics and general rehabilitation facilities in Texas. Therapists in

private practice who once found themselves alone when it came to licensure, reimbursement and other legal and legislative issues facing this industry, now have a network to ensure their support. ITPA bridges the gap between the independent provider in private practice and other types of therapy businesses or provider types. ITPA advocates for small business therapy practices, providing legal counsel when needed, and upholding the highest ethical standards for our profession.

I am looking to set up a summer program using horses in speech therapy sessions. I am conflicted about how to set it up. I have thought LLC ... There is so much to it and it's a big decision that I am so uncertain about. I need help.
Something to share with your fluency clients.
The implications of this affects ALL therapy patients and ALL therapists in ALL settings. Please click on this link to EASILY alert legislation that YOU CARE and expect them to do something about this! Thanks, guys!!
With Fall in the air, I wanted to share my 2 favorite Halloween apps for younger patients or lower verbal patients. I don't have the fancy links but here are the names: Peekaboo Trick or Treat with Ed Emberly. Very much like others of this series. Great for cause and effect but I use it most to illicit imitated phrases and then a "script" to allow the patient to touch the screen for the action. Naming and much more is possible. The other one I am in LOVE with from last year. Treat Street. First you dress your character then you take the character to the next part, where you guide your character to a house, then a door with a door bell which lends itself to a script activity for lots of verbalizations. Candy flies out of the door and is saved. You can then look into the bag and see the different goodies which can be grouped, described and .... so much fun!
I used them last year, deleted after Halloween and re-downloaded them today! Excited for Fall.

Well friends, for the first time in 12 years, someone stole from Kingwood Speech! There was no forced entry. They took a brand new laptop and a large sum of money. I am trying to recover, regroup, and reorganize. Please tell me what internal and external security procedures you have in place. Do you have a safe, cameras, or alarm? How many people have keys? How do you audit bookkeeping and cash payments? The system I had worked until last weekend! :(
