He received several clinical recognition awards prior to completing an additional external rotation at the University of Texas Health and Sciences Center at Hermann Hospital in Cornea and External Disease. Dr. Beavers worked 2 years in a retina specialty practice in the Texas Medical Center prior to starting a private practice in the North West Houston area of Spring, Texas. After nearly thirty years of caring for patients, Dr. Beavers now shares his extensive experience with the patients of the North Austin location of Mann Eye Institute. Dr. Beavers is Board Certified by the American Board of Optometry and certified by the International Board of Examiners in Optometry for the treatment and management of diseases of the eye and licensed by the Texas Optometry Board as a Glaucoma Specialist. He has served on the Texas Department of Health Professional Licensing and Credentialing Committee. Dr. Beavers is a member of the International Society of Refractive Surgery, the American Optometric Association, and the Texas Optometric Association. Dr. Beavers is an avid sports fan and traveled with the Houston Astros to their spring training facility in Florida. There, he performed vision exams on major and minor league players, coaches and staff members. Joining Dr. Beavers in Austin is his wife of 37 years, Donna, and their two youngest of three children. The family is excited to be in Austin and the Texas hill country.
