Reflecting on Juneteenth

Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the power of community. It’s also a time to reflect on the emotional toll of generational trauma and the importance of creating spaces for healing, pride, and connection.

The observance of Juneteenth reminds us how essential it is to honor lived experiences, uplift cultural identity, and support collective well-being.

At Samaritan Center, we believe that healing happens through culturally informed care, safe spaces, and connection. Today, we honor the significance of Juneteenth and reaffirm our commitment to accessible, inclusive mental health services for all.

June is PTSD Awareness Month

Post-traumatic stress disorder can affect anyone who has experienced trauma—combat, assault, disaster, or serious accidents. PTSD can show up in many ways: flashbacks, nightmares, emotional numbness, or feeling constantly on edge. These are signs you don’t have to carry alone.

At Samaritan Center, we offer trauma-informed, evidence-based care to individuals, children, Veterans, first responders, and anyone navigating the road to recovery.

💚 You’re not alone. Healing is possible—and help is here when you’re ready.

Samaritan Center was honored to take part in Dell’s Women Veterans Day Celebration, hosted by the Women in Action and Veterans & Supporters ERG groups.

The event centered on the theme “Resilience, Leadership, and Legacy: Women’s Journeys in Military Service and Beyond,” and featured an inspiring panel discussion on the challenges, strength, and community that shape women’s experiences tied to military service.

Adriana Coll, Samaritan Center Peer Service Coordinator, military spouse, and mother, shared her story and spoke to the power of community-based care and peer support. Her voice was a powerful reminder of why inclusive, trauma-informed mental health services matter.

Thank you to Dell for creating space to elevate these conversations—and for your continued partnership in supporting Veterans and families.

Today is National Women Veterans Day 💙

We honor the strength, resilience, and sacrifice of the women who have served in our armed forces—paving the way for future generations and strengthening our communities.

At Samaritan Center, we’re proud to work alongside inspiring women Veterans like Qianna Cannon (U.S. Army) and Board Member Major Elizabeth McFarland (U.S. Army & Army Reserves)—leaders who bring compassion, insight, and dedication to our mission.

💬 Today, we also join Dell’s Veteran ERG & Women’s Group for a special panel honoring Women Veterans and highlighting the work being done to support their mental health and wellness.

To all Women Veterans—thank you. Your service matters, and so does your story. 💙

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember.

To honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country—and to recognize the families who carry their memory forward every day.

At Samaritan Center, our work with Veterans through the Hope for Heroes Program is deeply rooted in gratitude.

We are reminded daily of the strength, sacrifice, and service of those who wear the uniform—and those who never made it home.

Today, we reflect. We remember. We honor.

And we remain committed to supporting our military community, every day of the year.

This month, Samaritan Center staffers Anne & Teresa are sharing how they show up for mental health—for themselves and for others.

💚 Anne: “How I show up for myself” – taking a breath, checking in, and moving my body to reset.
💙 Teresa: “How I show up for others” – offering presence, encouragement, and support.

Every small act of care matters.
How do YOU show up for mental health in your life?

Today is Military Spouse Appreciation Day—a national day of recognition honoring the husbands and wives who stand beside our service members through every move, deployment, and homecoming.

At Samaritan Center, we’re proud to walk alongside military families—and we’re especially grateful for the Veterans and military spouses on our own team who remind us daily just how vital the role of a spouse is to the strength and well-being of our military community.

Through our Hope for Heroes program, we offer care not just for Veterans and service members, but for the spouses and families who serve in their own quiet, powerful way.

To all military spouses: thank you. We see you, we honor you, and we’re here for you.
