The American Academy of Physician Associates has released a statement in response to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' announcement of state awards under the Rural Health Transformation Program. As part of the program, CMS incorporated AAPA’s state practice environment rating scale into its scoring methodology - making modernized PA laws a determining factor in the amount awards to states. U.S. Senators have introduced the Improving Access to Workers' Compensation for Injured Federal Workers Act - a key federal priority for AAPA that PAs helped elevate on Capitol Hill during September’s Leadership and Advocacy Summit. The bill would allow federal employees injured on the job to receive care from PAs and NPs under FECA, removing outdated restrictions that limit access to care.
