Hi- I'm Jules and my son has just joined a nanny-share/co-op that I'm really excited about. We are looking for a few new families to join the share that is operating in the Hyde Park and Eastwoods neighborhoods this fall. The share has been in operation for 9 years. We have 2 excellent experienced and loving nannies (1 who has been in share since the beginning, and the other is new as of last year). Both nannies are CPR/first aid certified and primarily speak Spanish to the babies. The nannies come to host homes M-F from 830-430 and care for a maximum of 5 babies each day, ranging from 3 months to 2 years. The cost is $80 per day ($70 if you host). Some families use it as full time care and others just 1 or 2 days a week, but we do each commit to a schedule (certain days) for the entire semester. And if you are looking for part-time care, we have openings in the afternoon, 12:30-4:30 for $50. And the best part of the share is the nannies! So sweet and loving to our little ones. Email the share at [email protected] for more info. Thanks!

I didn’t know my daughter could act or sing like this on stage. She just started in the fall. It’s like all the sudden they grow up and fly. And you know them, and you don’t know them.

It’s bitter sweet. Holding on and letting go.

We all come in with our unique gifts, talents, and dharma..

A note on dharma: a purpose that only you can fulfill and no one but you innately has. Whatever puts that glimmer in your eye, puts a song in your heart, and you would do it even if you didn’t get paid to do it. Dharma doesn’t have to be materialistic. It can be your thing that lights you up and puts you in Flow state: gardening, cooking, surfing, acting, parenting, painting, reading, volunteering, any work big or small that you just radiate light, joy, abundance.

We did it!! Congratulations to the Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training class that completed their 8 weeks of course study today 7/24!!

I’m very proud of each of them for showing up - receptive, willing, & open week after week on Zoom, replays, and in-person.

You will each be thoughtful, kind, responsible and inspiring prenatal yoga teachers! You are here to shine, share your gifts (and even your limitations which can be transformed into gifts), and to be of service, uplift, support, and empower one another.

Thank you for pushing me to grow as a teacher of prenatal yoga. Truly. I received so much. It was a great honor and privilege. Deep bow 🙏

B - you are badass for joining a yoga TT as a birth worker 👊 That took guts. You should be very proud for stepping out of your comfort zone and taking a leap of faith into the unknown. Thank you for always keeping me/us in check on inclusivity, consent, yoga alignment questions, birthy things, & you staying the course & doing the work, despite being out of the country at one point & life!

K - you, too, stepped out of your comfort zone and DID IT despite being out of the pregnancy & birth world for some time. That took a lot of courage. Thank you for educating me/us on kundalini yoga things, your twins stories, and showing us how to mature w/ humor and grace.

J - you engaged with us near and far on Zoom, in the car, from all the rooms in the home, ha! With two small children in tow! You are a rock star! Thank you for your independent, inquisitive mind and questions, saying YES to teaching for me your first prenatal yoga class 1/4 into the training, & learning/unlearning w/ thoughtfulness & patience.

We missed you J & D! Praying for your healing and peace! Thank you for your light and being apart of PYTT; I look forward to when you can resume your studies.

I appreciate you choosing me to study with; it means a lot. I’m so lucky I get to do this deeply rewarding work. I couldn’t do it without you 🙏

Go shine your light and lead by loving, & caring for yourself and each other. You got this!

Next Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training starts Sept 22 - Nov 13. Save $500 if you sign up before Aug 15!! DO IT! Link in bio.

We are in the final days of Cancer season.

Cancer has the memory of an elephant. Its feeling waters run deep especially when it comes to the past, family of origin, childhood, home, & roots. Cancer is a beautiful caring, sentimental, & sensitive energy that intuitively knows just what everyone needs to feel safe & nourished. It remembers your favorite dish from childhood & cooks it for you, and remembers every emotional slight, too.

One of the lessons for Cancer energy is to deal with the wound from childhood & to get it off them – this requires hard inner work, feeling, therapy, tears, & ultimately, forgiveness.

In these final degrees of Cancer (Monday through Thursday), allow yourself to feel deeply - don’t fix it. Instead sit with the discomfort & witness, be with the pain without numbing, distracting, or denying it. Accept that it is an integral part of the healing & growth process - Cancer is also a healer & the mother & understands this viscerally.

We are each personally in a very deep time of letting go. It is hard. And you are doing it. Keep breathing, softening, surrendering control, and doing whatever you need to care for yourself during this uncomfortable portal of release. Focus on what you are opening to and the amazing new life you are making space for (instead of what you are leaving behind – this doesn’t mean you cannot mourn it, too, just don't get stuck there).

We will be feeling lighter by this Friday when Leo season begins! The spontaneous crying outbursts of Cancer season will be done, & your tears will dry as we shift from water to fire.

Themes of fun, children, play, sovereignty, courage, & opening our hearts will pull focus from July 22 – August 22. All the painful feelings felt around family, home, childhood, and/or relationships dug up over the last four weeks will now turn into new soil. Your heart will be lighter & happier. Your heart may even grow three sizes like the Grinch's.

Sending so much comfort & gentleness as you FEEL the lessons of forgiveness, healing, & caring for your tender heart in the final days of Cancer season. Cry it out today sweet thing knowing a Leo party atmosphere arrives this weekend - Roar queen!

Don’t beat yourself up.

Permission to feel how you feel without condemning yourself. Pregnancy comes with many feelings that are not tidy.

Let go of any guilt or shame for not feeling a bond to your baby in the womb.

It’s OK.

You get to bond w your baby when you’re ready - it’s a process. Don’t push the river, it flows on its own.

Instead of forcing it or thinking something is wrong w/ you for not feeling connected w/ baby inside, get curious.

Is there something I need to address before I open to this bond w my baby?

Is there a disconnect in my relationship to self, my body, maybe another human in my life, a parent, society? If so, how can I heal and bridge the disconnect?

Is there something in my environment that needs adjusting or stabilization before I can feel secure in my attachment to my baby? My work, home, relationships, money, health?

The outer world is chaotic, changing, and destabilizing, and there is plenty to be worried and distressed about. Is fear holding me back from bonding? Or, not wanting to expose my baby to these fears, so I may have walls up? And, hormones like cortisol and adrenaline that are keeping me in fight, flight, or freeze instead of the hormones like oxytocin flooding my body that support tending and befriending? How can I relax more to promote positive hormones? (Yoga, rest, nature, be w/ trusted good people, have a boundary w/ media).

Affirm you are safe, your body is safe, and your baby is safe.

You get to go at your pace. You are a good momma. Trust the connection will come. Give it space, time, and allowance.

What my yoga practice has looked like the past 10 days. I got a tattoo from my son to cheer me up! So cute 🥰

Yoga is not just poses or asana. That’s just one limb of yoga. The one the west is obsessed with and the perfect gateway for us busy minded and bodied folks bc it gets us ‘in the door’.

I have nerve inflammation, so extra painful and uncontrollable, in my hip crease and sciatic nerve. I’m slowly, slowly on the mend.

I’m leaning into the other limbs of yoga - Yama, niyama, pranayama (breath control), dharana (meditation). I’m practicing self love, acceptance, kindness, gratitude, slowing way down, patience, simplicity, presence, humility, forgiveness 🤍

Though it sucks to be in pain and so limited physically, it has many gifts - if we are open, willing, receptive, curious.

Limitations can become gifts. We can heal if we don’t mask the pain and engage with it and tolerate the discomfort healthily, skillfully. Show ourselves equal parts compassion and equal parts accountability.
Ask, What do I need to address here?

And,

Yoga is initially an experience when you first come to it, eventually it becomes an understanding.

Understanding that I have a body, but I’m not the body.

Understanding I have issues, neurosis, pain, desires, character flaws, limitations and I’m not those things either.

I am love, spaciousness, vast, fearless, free.

The mind and body are limited. Remember the innermost self. The sun is always there shining even when there is cloud coverage or stormy weather.
