From death to life! Don’t stop praying. God works miracles! After receiving the gracious gift of a second chance in May, he has recovered amazingly. We are down to traveling once a month to his transplant team. Everyday he is getting stronger. For every moment, every new breath, we are thankful.

Joyfully crying a bit this morning. Many might not know that there is a scoring system for end stage liver disease, called the MELD score. It ranges from 6-40.

6 means HEALTHY liver and 40 means you need to urgently get transplanted within 3 months time, very close to death. At one moment in our battle, Robert had scored a 38.

Today, his new gift from a kind soul gave him a MELD score of 7.
That resonates joy, thankfulness and great hope for a future with him in it. Thank you God and thank you to our donor.

Best birthday ever! The gift of life. They downgraded us down from ICU to acute care because he was doing so well! ❤️🙏🏻Love.

1. A hair net that kept hair from going anywhere???

We received our third call today and raced back to the hospital. This one was a match and he is now currently in surgery. I want to scream with rejoicing but I also want to deeply weep because it is not put past me that a life was lost today for the donation and second chance we waited for. Thanking God for his hand in all the things and through all these feelings. Praying for our donor's family right now.

I didn't realize there was such a need. Something that was also important to both of us, is to have the donor label on our driver's license. I learned that one person alone can save up to 8 lives when they pass away. That is very humbling.

I'm learning so much through our journey. It feels like we have lived 5 years in only a span of months. Robert is staying SO positive and we are waiting on the Lord for what our path should be. Thank you for sharing and for all the prayers you are sending our way.

Our hospital shared with us that for all their donors, they apply to this national program to help offset costs of travel, lost wages etc. I thought this was pretty darn cool.
