“On a particular busy day Jernice started a group chat with all of the Regional Associates to simply ask how we were doing that night. She acknowledged the high volume of work we were all facing and set a supportive tone right from the start. Then, she got us into action—helping us strategize a game plan. Thanks to her leadership, we worked together and made real progress. It all started with Jernice thinking outside the box and stepping up.”

Jernice inspires us to Think Systematically—in this principle, leaders bring clarity to chaos. They anticipate complexity, design better ways of working, and empower their teams with structure and support to make real progress.

Way to go, Jernice! You inspire us all. 🎉

Debbie Gross didn’t plan to leave a career in tech. But her journey to needing care for her dad changed everything.

When her dad was diagnosed with dementia, Debbie’s life filled with questions and uncertainty. Her family struggled to navigate a system that didn’t guide them. Her mom was afraid. Debbie was burned out. And like so many others, they didn’t know home care was even an option.

Then she found support. Professional caregivers made all the difference. They brought dignity and stability to her dad’s final years, and gave Debbie space to be a daughter again.

She knew more families deserved that.

Today, Debbie owns three Home Instead agencies and runs them on the Honor platform. She’s combining lived experience with powerful tools to make care safer, more proactive, and more personal.

“When we use data to spot changes early, when we match the right Care Pro, when a family can see what’s happening in real time, it transforms the experience.”

This is what happens when technology and compassion work together.

For Debbie, this isn’t just business. It’s about shaping a future where every family has access to better care, and every Care Pro has the tools to succeed.

Let’s take a moment to recognize some incredible people doing stellar work. Each month, our community nominates individuals who go above and beyond—showing us what leadership at Honor truly looks like.

“Krystal Rodriguez shows up every day with a level of dedication and dependability that keeps our team running smoothly. Whether she's answering questions, jumping in on urgent requests, or simply being a steady presence, her contributions are deeply valued.

Recently, she took on a project that required detailed execution—and she absolutely excelled. Her ability to quickly grasp the scope, anticipate needs, and follow through with excellence made a notable impact… On top of her hard work, Krystal brings something else essential to the Care Pro Human Resources team: energy. With her sharp wit and a lot of sass, she keeps us all on our toes, adds humor to the day, and brings much-needed levity even during the busiest of times.

Krystal is the kind of teammate who makes others better simply by being who she is.”

Krystal inspires us to “Always Push” — in this principle, leaders set a high bar for themselves and others. They know that mediocrity isn't an option; they set ambitious goals, always strive for better, and commit to delivering top-notch service and outcomes.

Way to go, Krystal! You inspire us all. 🧡

They’re raising kids.
They’re caring for aging parents.
And they’re quietly putting their own lives on hold.

This is the Sandwich Generation—nearly 1 in 4 adults in the U.S. today (AARP).

It’s not a short-term season. It’s a structural shift in how families live, work, and care. At Honor, we see this every day. And we’re building tools and systems that lighten the load.

✅ Technology that matches families with the right Care Pro—quickly and accurately
✅ Systems that help spot small health issues before they become big ones
✅ Support that gives families peace of mind, and Care Pros the consistency they deserve

We’re not just building better home care.
We’re building a better future for the Sandwich Generation—one where caregiving doesn’t mean sacrificing everything else.

When everything feels urgent, how do you decide what really matters?

For Nicole O'Connor Anderson, our VP of Field Operations at Honor, the answer is simple—but powerful: “What is the impact of these competing priorities on the business?”

It’s one way we live our Leadership Principle: Get Stuff Done.

Because getting things done isn’t just about checking boxes.
It’s about focusing on what actually drives results—for our Care Pros, our clients, and our team. At Honor, our Leadership Principles guide how we show up, especially when the path forward isn’t clear.

It’s time to treat caregiving as essential infrastructure. 👇

In Forbes, our CEO Seth Sternberg breaks down why the $1.57 trillion caregiving crisis can’t be ignored—and what it’ll take to fix it.

📉 Reshaping the workforce
📈 Redefining the economy
🏡 Reimagining aging itself

Thank you and Glenn Llopis for spotlighting this urgent mission. 🔗 Read the story:

The caregiving industry is at a critical crossroads. Employers are only beginning to recognize the toll it takes on their workforce as millions of families confront it.

Not many franchise owners start out in a chemistry lab.
But for Dr. Greg Sanchez, caregiving wasn’t a career move. It was life.

He and his husband came from outside the care industry—Greg a Ph.D. chemist, his husband Carter a finance professional. But when they found out their local Home Instead franchise was for sale, something clicked.
Why?
Because Greg had already been a caregiver—to his now 100-year-old grandmother.
He didn’t just visit his grandparents—he lived with them. Supported them. Built deep connection through care.
They were caring for me, and then I ended up caring for them.
Now, ten years into leading Home Instead Pasadena & Monrovia, Greg brings that same mindset to his team: person-centered, hands-on, mission-driven.
Through grants like the CalGrows Innovation Grant, he’s piloted new ways to make care more effective & accessible—helping families and Care Professionals:
🗺️ Implemented more paid hands-on trainings for Care Professionals
🧡 Access nonprofit-funded programs
🧠 Join the GUIDE program for dementia care
🏡 Offset services costs through outcome-based funding
We didn’t get into this business to only support high-income seniors. We wanted to be able to support everyone.
For Greg, inclusive care means truly seeing the person in front of you—and making sure they feel safe, supported, and free to age on their own terms.
Sometimes, innovation looks like AI.
And sometimes, it looks like listening to your elders—and building something better because of it.

How are you helping make care more inclusive in your work or community?
We’d love to learn from you.

Honor observes Juneteenth as an HQ holiday. 🧡

June 19 marks a powerful moment in U.S. history, the end of slavery and the beginning of a journey toward justice and equity that continues today.

At Honor, we take this day to honor the resilience of Black communities, reflect on our shared history, and recommit to building a more inclusive future.

Let’s keep learning, keep listening, and keep moving forward together.

Great leaders don’t just “lead.” They move things forward.
They solve problems, deliver on what matters, and inspire their teams to do the same.

This month’s Principle of the Month video features Nicole Anderson, our VP of Field Ops, sharing how she leads through high-stakes moments and helps her team focus on what drives the most impact.

✨ A quick dose of leadership wisdom rooted in real work, real urgency, and real care.

As a parent, Preeti learned to pause and ask: Is this a skill issue, or a will issue?

That same question shapes how she leads engineering at Honor. It’s not about pushing harder. It’s about understanding what’s needed to unlock someone’s best work.

And that’s the kind of culture we’re building at Honor where clarity, compassion, and accountability go hand in hand.

It’s no secret: AI can help manage your health.
It can send medication reminders, log symptoms, and track your sleep.
But can it care for your mom?
❌ Not when she’s scared and confused.
❌ Not when she needs someone steady, kind, and present.
❌ Not when real comfort can’t come from a screen.

At Honor, we believe the future of care isn’t about replacing people.
It’s about backing them up with the best technology we’ve got.
We use AI to make caregiving smarter:
🏡 Better matches between clients and Care Pros
⌚️ More stable schedules
🧡 Less admin, more time for real connection

But the care itself? That still comes from a person. In real time.
Doing real work.

AI might be able to do your taxes. But it won’t know how to sit beside someone who’s just been told their time is running out.

That’s care. That’s Honor.

How do you think technology can best support real human connection in aging care? 👇

You might’ve heard the myth:
“Older adults don’t use technology.”

But here’s the truth—75% of adults over 65 are online (Pew Research Center). And that number keeps growing.

The difference isn’t ability.
It’s design.

When technology is built to meet people where they are (with clarity, simplicity, and care) it becomes a powerful tool for connection and independence.

At Honor, we believe aging shouldn’t come with barriers. So we design technology that supports older adults in living comfortably at home on their terms. 🧡
