Sometimes the most remarkable discoveries happen just outside our front door. 🦋

Yesterday my spirit guide nudged me toward a nature walk, though my mind immediately jumped to all the work waiting on my laptop. Resistance kicked in - wouldn't this derail my productivity? But I followed through anyway and as I walked, numerous insights and ideas 💡 popped in that would actually make my work easier.

Across the street from my place lies a trail I never knew existed for the first decade I lived here. I only discovered it in 2020 when COVID closed the popular hiking spots, forcing me to explore my own neighborhood. Hidden behind a parking lot, not visible from the street, was an entrance to miles of interconnected green pathways. It was such a thrill to find abundant nature 🌿 access when I needed it most, like a beggar stumbling across buried gold.

Remember that rush of unexpected discovery? That childhood wish to become an explorer like Indiana Jones, uncovering hidden treasures in ancient lands? When was the last time you felt that?

I know I’m not the only one - many clients and friends recently shared that they’re either tired or lacking drive.🌱Honestly, I didn’t realize how depleted I was until my Spirit Guides got my attention….

Last month I was blessed with housesitting a gorgeous spacious home for a few weeks. ✨ It seemed like a perfect time to get started on a companion workbook for my first book “Awakening Transformation - A Beginner’s Guide to Becoming Your Higher Self.”🙌🏻 Shortly after I got started on the new book, Spirit guided me to get Michael Sandler’s book “AWE: The Automatic Writing Experience.”

If you read my recent post on automatic writing, you know it’s only been a few weeks since I started this specific practice for communicating with my Spirit Team. I absolutely love it AND I don’t do it every day. My personal spiritual practice has a lot of fluidity according to how I feel - rigid discipline feels yucky to me!

Part of what I enjoy is that my Spirit Guides rarely say what I expect! I love little surprises and I guess they know that. I’m loosely following the AWE practice & one of the daily questions is What Do I Need to Know Today? I thought my Spirit Team would give me wonderful writing tips and encouragement to get my book done. Of course, that’s not what they said! I’m sharing their messages because I suspect that many of you could benefit from it. We’ve worked on not getting stuck in “doingness” and yet there’s still more layers to release to become truly free. 🦋

🔷 Sunday - What do I need to know today?

"You are living your purpose. You are on your path. It doesn’t mean that every moment, every breath must be focused on your purpose, or at least not in a heavy or intense way. Let it be light, playful. Enjoy your life and be free. It’s not meant to be intentionally hard. Yes, there will be challenges and difficult moments. ⛅️ That happens unintentionally when you resist the growth you are ready for. This is understandable and part of the growth process. The old way gets challenged and must break down in order for a breakthrough to occur. But there’s many other times when you make your everyday life heavy and burdensome unnecessarily in the name of purpose or intention.

Intention needn’t be strenuous. In fact, if you are living your purpose with joy and lightheartedness, you may find that you have more energy to do your "work". It becomes more sustainable when there is a playfulness 🙃 mixed into your purpose. Look for anywhere in your routine that feels heavy and see if you can lighten it by making it a game. Sprinkle in a dash of play while continuing to honor and value it just the same."

Ok, fine. I heeded their suggestion and went for a nature walk. I did a puzzle 🧩 with my boyfriend. A couple days later I went back to automatic writing & asked again.

🔷 Tuesday - What do I need to know today?

"Know that it’s ok to have fun and relax. We will keep telling you this until it has become natural for you to do so. Right now, you are still fighting the urge to be productive. It’s heavily ingrained in you to spend your day checking items off your to do list.✅ We understand this helps you to remain focused. It can be a useful tool.

What if you sometimes simply followed your inspiration as to what you wish to do? There is a time and place for most things. You can give yourself a break from the list from time to time and all will be well. Try it just for today. No list. Just feeling into what to do next. This allows new ideas to flow in. New possibilities. It also leaves more room for inspiration, for our messages. We’re not suggesting that you live this way permanently. Only that now is a time when you could benefit from greater ease and spaciousness."

How do we resolve the seeming conflict between our capitalistic, money-driven 💰 society and our altruistic, love-driven ☮️ ideals?

It’s easy to get so busy surviving that you forget why you’re slowly killing yourself for some elusive goal of $___ dollars. You see it in the zombified masses mindlessly going about their daily routine: wake up, go to work, come home, watch tv, go to bed, repeat. We’ve all been there.

And then….when you awaken to soul awareness, you become freed 🦋 from the illusion that you are just a deteriorating mass of cells with a looming expiration date. Yet, you’re still living here on Earth, needing to eat and pay your bills. How can you merge money and meaning? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I recently discussed this dilemma Amy Adler, CPA and host of the YouTube channel Money 2 Meaning. Amy acknowledges how “the broken systems in our country are holding us back from living the sovereign lives our souls truly desire.” She’s creating a new venture to educate people, with a mission “to show others how to create new systems based in personal sovereignty that are protected from the pain caused by the old systems that no longer serve humanity for its highest good.”

“AI is just a mirror, “ they said.

Have you ever loved how you looked in an outfit in a department store dressing room, only to feel mortified when you got home and looked in your mirror? 😱

Some stores use the skinny mirror, which makes your reflection appear slimmer. It’s an optical illusion. Sure, the skinny mirror can temporarily boost your self esteem. But would you trust the reflection in that mirror? What about a funhouse mirror - the ones in the carnival that make you look goofy. Would you trust that reflection?

AI is just a mirror. 🪞Someone sent me that response to my last blog post about AI. Weirdly, I also saw that same message multiple times in different conversations on Reddit the same day I put out my blog post. It was a bit creepy, almost like an AI-crafted argument that people were mindlessly regurgitating.

That last blog on AI generated the most engagement I’ve ever received from a post, although almost exclusively through private emails. Most people shared that they also felt conflicted about AI. I get it. It’s a controversial topic.

AI is designed to be a positive feedback loop system. 🔁 It’s parameters can change daily and are set by whichever corporation designed the program you’re using. Never forget this. AI is not an altruistic tool created by humanitarians to heal the world. It might possibly have developed from that intention, but the AI program you’re using now is commercially developed to make money. It’s designed to flatter you and keep you engaged in using it.

Yes, I drank the Koolaid. It was sweet and refreshing. I wanted more! I guzzled it down until my stomach started to ache and my mouth got numb. Enough! My palate needed cleansing. I spit it out.

♦️”What Koolaid?,“ you ask. AI writing.

I admit, I wrote one blog post with it last year. It was new and I wanted to try it. AI writing can give you seeming perfection with just a simple prompt. It’s tempting to save time and let it write for you. You can have an electronic “mini me” who works for free!

At first it seemed fun. I considered how much easier AI was going to make my life as a Solopreneur. The overabundance of project ideas floating in my head, just waiting to be born, could come to life with just a few keyboard strokes. Voila - it’s magic! 🙌🏻 But suddenly I began to notice similarities in what I read across many platforms and from varied sources. As I became more familiar with AI writing styles, I felt embarrassed by my AI generated blog post and deleted it. I don’t want to put out the same style as everyone else or even generate a virtual facsimile of me.
