Today, let us grieve. Let us grieve how close we came to a future we envisioned - one built on the foundation of human dignity and collective care. A future where trans kids and adults can safely be themselves. Where women have the fundamental right to choose what happens to their bodies. Where refugees can seek asylum and find sanctuary. Where workers earn more than to just survive - they can actually thrive. Where no one has to choose between life-saving medicine and putting food on the table.

Today we grieve the future we glimpsed - one where human life is valued over profit, where bodily autonomy is a civil liberty, where community takes precedence over corporate greed, and where justice is a lived reality.

And then tomorrow, we rise. We jump back in with renewed purpose and unwavering resolve. We protest and speak truth to power. We spread knowledge to combat misinformation and fear. We build mutual aid networks and create the systems we need when existing ones fail us. We organize in community and care for one another - because that's what we've always done.

Together, we'll rebuild. Together, we'll reclaim. Together, we remember that the path to justice has never been straight, and so we'll guide it through our collective action and unrelenting hope.

Hi everyone! I realized I haven’t properly introduced myself on here and wanted to take the opportunity to talk about my work as a therapist and a few funsies about me. ✨

My name is Emery Rodriguez, MS, LPC-Associate (they/he) and I work with adolescents and adults in Austin, TX and online. Most of my clients are LGBTQ+ or QTPOC and neurodiverse 🌈 🏳️‍⚧️✊🏼

To me, the best part of being a therapist is the honor of building relationships with the amazing people that walk through my door - I learn just as much from them as they do from me!

When I’m not working, you’re bound to find me snuggled up with my fur babies Sansa, Goose & Haku. 🐶🐱 I’m most likely reading or watching fantasy fiction, drag race, or simply a great story! 📚🍿 My greatest downfall is being both an Aquarius and a pumpkin spice girlie in my heart of hearts 🍂😔

Repost from : Protecting Black women and girls should not be revolutionary, it should be a standard.

Sonya Massey should still be alive.

On July 6th, at approximately 1:21 am, Sonya Massey, a 36-year-old Black woman from Springfield, Illinois, was tragically murdered in her own home after calling 911. Concerned about a possible intruder, Sonya did what anyone would do—she reached out to the authorities for protection. However, Deputy Sean Grayson arrived and ended up shooting her. Despite her attempts to comply with his instructions, the deputy’s actions resulted in Sonya being killed.

Grayson has since been indicted on charges of first-degree murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, and official misconduct.
