Exciting things are in the works for Goodbody....trying something new… it’s a process! 😳😂👏

That being said… yesterday I had an amazing conversation with JJ Ruescas, a human optimization specialist who’s work I’ve admired for some time! He has some of the most popular breathwork classes and personal development workshops here Austin, TX.

We talked nervous system regulation, feeling and processing our emotions, the exciting research/hard data he is gathering from his classes... and I picked his brain on mindset shifts for entrepreneurs and business owners.

I’ve been wanting to make this collab happen for a while… On Friday 3/8 JJ and I will be hosting workshop together! I will lead a discussion on TCM and qi gong practice (gentle movement) and then he will take us into one of his epic breathwork sessions.

I’ll share more of our chat soon and I hope some of you will join us at the live event!!

More conversations to come with some seriously inspiring individuals✨💕

The lungs… such a powerful system within the body… one of the few we can intentionally take control over… making the breath the ultimate way to regulate the nervous system.

In TCM there are many acupuncture points on the lung channel to address lung organ function, strengthen immune system, and fight pathogen invasions. But the lungs are also where we can treat the spirit and emotions, particularly sadness and grief.

Breathwork is an incredible practice to move qi, physically process and release emotions, as well as regulate the nervous system.

Join me 3/11 at Goodbody Wellness for a very special event with !! JJ is a human optimization specialist, coaching businesses and entrepreneurs, and his breath work sessions are epic. Seriously! I have been many times and he always packs the house.

So excited for this years first collab! More info to come, event link in bio!

One of my faves!! 🎯✨✨ Very special acupuncture point Yin Tang holds significant importance in traditional Chinese medicine. This point is located between the eyebrows, in the center of the forehead, in the location of your “Third Eye” chakra center. In many ancient traditions this is considered a powerful energy center we can be mindful of and activate!

1. Benefits of Yin Tang ✨

Yin Tang is known for its ability to calm the mind and reduce stress. Stimulating this point can help alleviate anxiety, promote relaxation, and improve sleep quality. It is an excellent point to target for individuals struggling with insomnia or emotional imbalances.

2. Implications for Acupuncture✨

Yin Tang is often used to address various physical conditions as well, including headaches, sinus congestion, and eye strain. By gently inserting needles into this point, acupuncturists can help relieve tension and promote better circulation in the head and face. It is also believed to enhance mental clarity and focus.

3. Yin Tang in Traditional Chinese Medicine

In traditional Chinese medicine, Yin Tang is associated with the “Shen,” which represents the spirit or consciousness. By working on this point, practitioners aim to balance the Shen and promote emotional well-being. Slipping into a meditative state while focusing on this point during an acupuncture session can be very powerful. Yin Tang is often used in combination with other acupuncture points to address specific health concerns or imbalances.

Stay tuned for more informative posts on my favorite power points I use everyday in treatments at Goodbody Wellness😊💕💕

10 Principles of Yangsheng… a simple yet beautiful reminder that we must nourish ourselves for a harmonious life ✨✨💕

1. Practice Mindfulness: Cultivating mindfulness helps reduce stress and promotes mental clarity. Engage in activities like meditation, deep breathing exercises, or tai chi to enhance your overall sense of well-being.

2. Eating a Balanced Diet: A healthy diet is crucial for yangsheng. Focus on consuming fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins while limiting processed foods and sugary drinks.

3. Exercise Regularly: Engaging in physical activity is essential for maintaining good health. Find activities you enjoy, such as walking, yoga, or swimming, and aim for at least30 minutes of exercise most days of the week.

4. Get Sufficient Sleep: A good night’s sleep is vital for rejuvenating the body and mind. Aim for7-9 hours of quality sleep each night to support your overall well-being.

5. Cultivate Positive Relationships: Surround yourself with supportive and positive individuals who uplift and inspire you. Nurturing meaningful relationships can contribute to your overall happiness and well-being.

6. Connect with Nature: Spending time in nature has numerous benefits for physical and mental wellbeing. Take walks in the park, go hiking, or simply sit in a garden to enjoy the calming effects of nature.

7. Age gracefully: Manage the aging process as well as possible, largely through healthy lifestyle and preventative interventions.

8. Embrace Balance: Strive for balance in all aspects of your life. This includes balancing work and leisure time, prioritizing self-care, and seeking harmony in your relationships and daily activities.

9. Hydrate: Drink adequate amounts of clean spring water. Fresh juices and herbal teas are other helpful ways to take in fluids.

10 Continual Learning and Growth: Engage in lifelong learning to stimulate your mind and expand your knowledge. Explore new hobbies, read books, take courses, or pursue personal development to foster growth and fulfillment.

Power Point: The Magic of Du-20✨✨✨🎯

Acupuncture is a powerful practice that taps into your body’s own energetic circuitry and power centers to promote healing and balance. Below I share the benefits of one specific acupuncture point, Du-20. It is special in that it’s location is at the vertex of the head, the highest point in the body. It is associated with the Crown Chakra. And it is one of my favorite points to utilize in my practice!

The Benefits of Du-20

✨Enhances Mental Clarity: Du-20, also known as the “Baihui” point, is located at the top of the head. Stimulating this point can help improve mental clarity and increase focus. If you often find yourself feeling scattered or overwhelmed, Du-20 might be the key to finding mental balance.

✨Boosts Energy: Are you frequently tired or lacking energy? Du-20 can help! This acupuncture point is believed to revitalize and uplift our energy, promoting a sense of vitality. By activating Du-20, you may experience a natural boost in energy levels, allowing you to tackle your day with renewed vigor.

✨Calms the Mind: In today’s fast-paced world, it’s essential to find moments of calm and tranquility. Du-20 is associated with the crown chakra, which is connected to spiritual awareness and inner peace. By stimulating this point, you can promote relaxation, reduce stress, and achieve a greater sense of overall well-being.

✨Supports Emotional Balance: Du-20 is also known for its ability to help balance emotions. If you often experience mood swings or find it challenging to regulate your emotions, acupuncture on this point may provide relief. By harmonizing the crown chakra, Du-20 can contribute to emotional stability and a greater sense of inner harmony.

This is one of my favorite point to use in treatment, but it it a wonderful to use in your daily practice. Use acupressure or focus on this point during meditation. 😌😌

Weekly Theme: Yin and Yang

Sometimes it's nice to get back to the foundations 👏👏The first reference to this concept was likely around 700 B.C. in a text called ‘The Book of Changes’. The concept of yin and yang is likely the single most important concept of Traditional Chinese Medicine… as it is the foundational principle that all other traditional Chinese physiology, pathology, diagnosis, and treatment can be boiled down to. It’s incredibly simple, yet so profound.
☯️ It’s about duality and contrast and finding the balance between two polarities.
☯️ It’s about cycles and phases.
☯️ It’s about transformation and transmutation.
☯️ One simply cannot exist without the other.
This week we are exploring this concept and the lessons we can learn from it:
✨Avoiding Burnout
✨Balancing hormones
✨The pathway to personal and spiritual development

It's going to be fun! 😊

I’m so excited to share that I’ve been invited to teach a continuing education workshop at ! 👏👏

This is such a fun topic and versatile treatment for any acupuncturist to incorporate into their practice. It’s going to be a great review of anatomy and classical points… and then I’ll be sharing the modern needle techniques I use in my clinic and how to deliver the treatment from start to finish. We will also cover marketing and how this can enhance a professional practice.

It will be hands on! Day 2 is devoted to practicing the techniques taught. This is going to be fun 😊

Open to both students and professionals… 8 CEUs.

We have one more day left of early-bird pricing!
