I am a Certified Professional Electrologist, certified by the International Board for Electrologist Certification. I use state of the art equipment, the most effective topical anesthetic available, follow the CDC guidelines for infection prevention, and keep abreast of recent developments in my profession by attending educational conferences 2 or more times annually. I've delivered lectures on various topics relating to electrolysis from Austria to New Zealand; from Canada to Puerto Rico; and in 12 states in the U.S. I founded the Association of Texas Electrologists (now the Texas Association of Hair Removal Specialists) in 1970 and served on its board of directors for 25 years and as President for 4 years; I co-founded the National Electrolysis Organization NEO and served on its board of directors for 5 years, and served as chairman of the committee that oversaw the merger between the NEO and the Electrolysis Society of America to form the Society of Clinical and Medical Electrologists (now known as the Society of Clinical and Medical Hair Removal Specialists) and served on that board of directors for 15 years, 10 of them as an officer; served on the board of directors of the Texas Association of Professional Electrologists for 20 years, 8 of those as President; and served on the Executive Committee of the American Electrology Association for two years and was a member of the board of directors for 8 years. I have been published in numerous electrolysis newsletters world-wide; served as past editor of the international publication, Electrology World, and provided information on Photodynamic Therapy for an article in the New England Journal of Medicine. I contributed a chapter in the book, "Electrolysis, Thermolysis, and the Blend by Julius Shapiro, PhD, FESA. I've attended lectures at Hahnemann Medical College and done rounds at the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. I completed a course in Medical Electrolysis in Reading, PA, and was given an award for Outstanding Service to the Electrolysis by the Pennsylvania Society of Electrologists. I participated in clinical trials of a topical anesthetic, sponsored by Mayo Clinic. I studied electrolysis in an 11 month apprenticeship course, majored in biology/pre-med and psychology for four years at the Texas Woman's Univeristy, hold a BA from the University of Texas in Austin, and did graduate work in Legal Studies at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.
