Stomach 36 is a great acupuncture point for the transition into Fall 🍁 It's the single most important point in the body to stimulate the Stomach and the Spleen to generate Blood and Qi. It is considered one of the most vital points to strengthen our immunity as well as our digestive system.

You can find this point by placing 4 fingers perpendicular to your leg below the kneecap. Then slide those fingers to the outside of your lower leg bone (the tibia) where you feel a little divot next to the bone with your lower finger.

To stimulate this point, just place a finger on this point and press & hold for 30 seconds to one minute. I also love using an ear seed on this point to help support the spleen and stomach and moxa to boost immunity 🧑 πŸ™πŸ»β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹

Book an acupuncture session through the link in my bio and we'll be sure to use ST 36 to support your immune system!

Late Summer is the transitional period of time between the third week of August until the Fall equinox (September 22nd). It corresponds with the Earth Element in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Many people may experience more digestive issues, worry, heaviness in the joints, low energy, and sugar cravings during this time. In Austin, it may seem too soon for warming spices but it is a good time to add small amounts of warming spices back into our diets. Warming spices strengthen digestion, tonify the spleen & stomach, and support immunity. I also highly recommend skipping the in favor of the It tastes like Fall πŸ‚
Seasonal changes are also a great time to receive acupuncture. Schedule a session through the link in my bio to strengthen digestion and immunity for the transition into Fall. 🍁

✨Labor Day Week Special ✨
✨CBD Topicals from are 20% off this week - 9/1 - 9/6 ✨

Years ago, I had only a few pain patients that were using CBD lotion but today, it is a signature item on spa menus and pain doctors are recommending it to patients for their pain and muscle spasms.
I have tried a lot of CBD lotions and oils over the years but by far, is my favorite! I have been using it in my clinic for the past 5 years with great results. Their CBD is extracted from a h**p farm in Colorado and formulated for high bioavailability and absorption by the skin for maximum benefits. They are a Certified B Corporation to show their commitment to social and environmental causes. 🌿

If you are interested in trying a wonderful CBD topical, stop by my office to pick up your own 8 oz. bottle of CBD body cream (regularly $46, now $36.80), CBD pain relief cream (regularly $60, now $48), and CBD body oil (regularly $55, now $44). Reach out if you have any questions! πŸ’š

During our Texas summers, we can feel the effects of the increased humidity in our body. In Chinese Medicine, we call this an accumulation of dampness or excess moisture. Symptoms of dampness are heaviness in the body, achey joints, foggy mind, runny nose, swollen limbs, bloating, and diarrhea. It can be caused from too much dairy or sweets that we eat but also from our environment. This time of year no matter how well we are eating, we may start to feel the effects of our external environment on our bodies. When the humidity is high, it's important to eat foods to help clear the dampness in our body. These are foods that are good at clearing out the extra fluid that our body doesn't need. Try adding basil or radishes to salads and cardamom to your morning coffee or tea. Drink some celery juice or add celery seed to your egg or tuna salad for lunch. However you do it, try to incorporate some of these foods into your diet this summer. For added benefit, schedule an acupuncture session to assist the body in clearing damp for a clearer head, lighter body, and better digestion! Click the link in my bio ✨ β €β €β €β €β €β €

Adding bitter foods to your diet can do wonders for digestion, especially for those with gall bladder issues (or without a gall bladder), high liver enzymes, gas and bloating, constipation, or overeating. They can be especially helpful during our Texas summers. In Chinese Medicine, these external factors of high heat and humidity influence our digestion and bitters (herbal tinctures made from bitter herbs) can help us drain the excess damp and heat from our bodies.

Try adding digestive bitters to your routine 10 minutes before your meals if you have trouble with acid reflux or have a sluggish (or an absent) gall bladder. If you have gas & bloating or overindulged, try it after a meal. You can also take them both before and after meals - just play around with what works for you and your digestion!

Bitters are my go-to help for digestion and especially in the summer even if I don't feel like I have any symptoms! Pick up some digestive bitters at or stop by the office for some by or my own homemade version.

Facial cupping is a type of Eastern Medicine therapy in which small silicone cups are attached to the surface of the face to create a gentle suction with continuous movement. Unlike body cupping, there are no cupping marks left behind. Facial cupping promotes blood circulation and encourages the formation of new blood vessels. It also causes micro-trauma (like micro-needling and derma-rollers) to prompt the natural healing process in the skin.
Facial cupping also improves lymph flow resulting in glowing skin & ultimate relaxation.

If you are curious about facial cupping, schedule a combination session of Acupuncture + Facial Cupping or book your AcuGlowℒ️ treatment. Book through the link in my bio πŸ’« Or follow the link in my bio to read more on my blog for the home routine you can do on your own!

Large Intestine 11 {Qu Chi} is easily one of the most common and powerful acupuncture points. To find this point on yourself, bend your elbow and press the outer end of the crease. This point is used to treat all aspects of heat in the body, whether emotional or physical. It is the go-to point to reduce fevers and inflammation. It clears heat from itchy, red skin (anyone else get skin issues in the summer? πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ) and clears damp-heat from the intestinal tract when there are loose stools/diarrhea from a stomach flu or a hangover 🍻 It is a wonderful point for any pain in the upper arm or elbow including tennis or golf elbow and tendonitis. It can also be used to clear heat in the mental realm to clear agitation and anxiety.
If you are feeling the heat πŸ”₯, press and hold this point for 30 seconds to a minute or place an on the point and leave for 3-4 days. This is a great acupressure point during the hot months of summer! β˜€οΈ

Moxibustion is the process of burning the dried leaves of an herb called mugwort (also called Artemesia vulgaris, Ai Ye or Folium artemisiae). It produces a strong heat that penetrates deeply into the muscles and joints. It can be applied directly to the body on various acupuncture points or indirectly. The indirect method most commonly used is a moxa stick. A moxa stick is a large cigar of rolled mugwort that is lit and held a few inches above the skin. Other direct methods shape the moxa into the shape of a cone or a grain of rice.

Many people feel like using heat is only for the winter months but did you know that summer is a great time to use moxa? In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the treatment philosophy is "during the summer, treat the winter pathogens". Moxa is often used during the hottest days of summer to strengthen the body's immunity and prepare your body's defense against illness in the fall and winter.

If you struggle with frequent colds during the fall and winter months, now is the time to prepare for the colder months. Click on the link in my bio to schedule an appointment or to read more about moxa.
Let me know if you've ever tried moxa and what you thought about it! πŸŒΏπŸ’¨

Rainbow LED light therapy (which stands for light-emitting diode) is a non-invasive, painless treatment that utilizes different wavelengths of infrared light to help treat various skin issues such as acne, fine lines, and wounds. It is a lower energy form compared to the sun and laser treatments. The light is absorbed by the molecules in the skin, which in turn alters the biology of the cells.

The LED Rainbow Light by TOMA has six varying wavelengths of light to reduce inflammation, increase collagen production, and reduce oil production for acne prone skin. Different LED wavelengths that show up as color have different benefits:
❀️ RED LIGHT: Stimulates collagen production, reduces inflammation (rosacea), promotes wound healing, improves fine lines. Good for inflammation and pain in joints.
πŸ’šGREEN LIGHT: Treats and prevents hyper-pigmentation by inhibiting the production of excess melanin.
πŸ’™BLUE LIGHT: Kills bacteria and reduces over sebaceous gland production.
πŸ’œPURPLE LIGHT: Combination of red and blue benefits.
πŸ’›YELLOW LIGHT: Treats redness, sensitivity, irritation, and rosacea. Reduces the appearance of the tiny blood vessels.
🀍 CYAN LIGHT: Gentle acne treatment, perfect for combination aging skin, controls oil production and promotes collagen synthesis.

If you are curious about LED light therapy, schedule an Acupuncture + LED light therapy combination treatment (we can decide which color addresses your needs most) or book an AcuGlowℒ️ treatment which includes the red light therapy as well. Book through the link in my bio πŸ’«

Passionflower / Passiflora incarnata πŸ’œ I fell in love with the flower before I started using it as medicine. Passionflower was one of the herbs I started using regularly during the pandemic to help with anxiety and sleep. It is a natural sedative and has a calming effect on the mind and the muscles. It is especially helpful for those with circular thinking - when you repeat the same thoughts/replay the same scenes over and over again. It can also lower blood pressure so be careful if you have low blood pressure or are taking other medications that also lower your blood pressure.
If you would like to try a bottle of this passionflower tincture by ($24), just stop by the office or schedule an appointment via the link in my bio and we can discuss if it's a good option for you. I'd love for more people to benefit from this beloved herb πŸ’œ

Heart 7 {Shen Men/Spirit Gate} is one of the best acupuncture points for supporting the heart on a mental, spiritual, and physical level. This point calms the mind & spirit & eases anxiety, sadness, & depression. It is the go-to point to support a broken heart no matter the reason πŸ’”
This point nourishes and supports the physical aspect of the heart too. It is helpful for palpitations and insomnia. I often place an on this point when my heart feels heavy with sadness or grief.
Find this point by turning your hand palm facing up and locate the crease in your wrist on your pinkie finger side. Heart 7 is on the inside of the tendon just below the tiny bone on your wrist. Press and hold this point gently for 30 seconds to 1 minute and take a few deep breaths. Or place an on this point and leave it on for 3-4 days. With hand washing, it generally doesn't stay on that long but even a few hours can help! I also like to place it on my wrist before bed to support a good night's sleep.
Try this point and let me know what you think! πŸ’—

Nanoneedling is the perfect summer treatment to rejuvenate your skin naturally! β˜€οΈ It is a non-invasive procedure that uses tiny silicone pyramids (rather than needles) to create microchannels in the skin to increase absorption, stimulate collagen production and enhance your skin's texture and appearance. It is more gentle than microneedling (no need for numbing cream) and minimal recovery time (back to normal the next day). It is so gentle it's used under the eyes to reduce puffiness ✨ The treatment is super relaxing - especially when combined with an acupuncture treatment 🌟
If you’re looking to age more gracefully & holistically, add some nano-needling to your next acupuncture session for an $85 add-on through the end of August - schedule through the link in my bio or DM me for more info πŸ’«
