Contrary to popular belief, therapy isn’t a just space to “talk about problems”. Therapy can be an incredibly valuable space to:

- Learn how to validate your own experiences (often for the first time!)
- increase self awareness
- improve emotion regulation
- develop stronger relationships
- strengthen confidence and self trust
- cultivate insight into our own patterns
- unlearn limiting beliefs
- access more values alignment in our decisions

Everyone deserves the opportunity to show up in a space that helps them to feel more seen, supported, and welcomed as their most authentic self 🤍

If thoughts about food, eating, or your body are taking up a lot of mental space, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to navigate it by yourself.

Eating disorders and disordered eating don’t "look" the same for everyone (visually, behaviorally, or emotionally). Sometimes the signs show up as guilt after eating, avoiding social situations that involve food, mood changes around meals, or feeling disconnected from your body. These experiences are all valid reasons to seek support.

You don’t have to wait until things feel “serious enough.” If food or body concerns are affecting your daily life, therapy can help you rebuild a more peaceful and trusting relationship with yourself, your body, and with food. ✨

Eating disorder treatment is often much deeper than it appears on the surface. While therapy and nutrition support are important pieces, recovery also involves healing trauma, building self-awareness, developing supportive relationships, and learning new ways to care for your mind and body.

Like an iceberg, much of the work happens beneath the surface, strengthening coping skills, shifting self-talk, exploring values, and creating sustainable patterns that support long-term healing.

Recovery is not just about food; it’s about rebuilding trust with yourself. 🕊️

Eating disorder treatment can look different for everyone, but it often begins with understanding your unique story, needs, and goals. Recovery isn’t about willpower, it’s about support, compassion, and building sustainable ways to care for your mind and body.

Treatment may involve therapy, nutrition support, developing greater connection to oneself to learn how to more effectively emotion-regulate, and gently exploring the rules and beliefs that keep disordered eating patterns in place.

As part of this comprehensive process, clients undoubtedly benefit from a collaborative "team approach" --> this team typically includes a therapist, Registered Dietitian, and medical provider (all educated in eating disorders + disordered eating).

Healing is rarely a straight line. There are ups, downs, and moments that feel confusing or heavy, but none of that means you are broken or in need of fixing.

What you’re experiencing may be your mind and body trying to process, adapt, and protect. With support, self-compassion, and greater awareness of your own internal experiences, those waves can more actively become part of a meaningful healing journey. 💚

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapy approach designed to help the brain process and heal from distressing experiences (both PTSD and CPTSD). When difficult memories or beliefs remain “stuck,” they can continue to influence how we feel, think, and respond in the present.

Through guided bilateral stimulation such as side-to-side eye movements, tapping, or sounds, EMDR helps the brain reprocess these experiences so they become less overwhelming. Many people find it helpful for trauma, anxiety, panic, phobias, disturbing memories, and negative core beliefs.

Healing doesn’t mean forgetting the past, it means your past no longer holds the same emotional weight. 💫

Recovery can bring up a lot of emotions before, during, AND after both meals and snacks. Grounding techniques can help calm the nervous system, reconnect you to the present moment, and help you to feel more present before eating.

Simple practices like a sensory check-in, feeling your feet on the floor, slowing your breath, or setting a compassionate intention can gently shift the focus from control to care. 🌸

Trauma doesn’t always show up in obvious ways. Sometimes it appears through patterns like perfectionism, people-pleasing, emotional withdrawal, overthinking, or feeling disconnected from yourself. These responses often developed as ways to protect and cope.

By practicing awareness, compassion, and support for ourselves, it’s possible to better understand these patterns and begin creating new ways of feeling safer, connected, and aligned.

Body image isn't just about how we look, it’s about how we relate to our bodies. Taking time to check in with our thoughts, values, and experiences can help shift the relationship from criticism to curiosity.

Gentle reflection can open space for compassion, appreciation, and care for the body that supports you every day. Small moments of awareness can be powerful steps toward a more peaceful relationship with your body. 🤎

Intuitive movement is about reconnecting with your body and honoring what it needs in the moment.

Jennifer Pollack, LMFT-Associate, shares that checking in with your body each day can guide the kind of movement that feels supportive whether that’s a few stretches during breaks, a walk with a friend, a short Pilates video, or gentle yoga before bed. Movement can be flexible, compassionate, and responsive to how you feel.

When we shift from control to curiosity, movement becomes another way to care for ourselves. 🌿

New blog post alert!

Burnout often happens when stress keeps building without a chance for the body to complete the stress cycle. Our nervous systems are designed to (quite literally) move through stress.

Small, intentional acts of self-care like *movement*, connection, rest, or expression can help signal safety and allow the body to reset. Healing from burnout starts with listening to what your mind and body may truly need. 🌿
