Are you 45 years or older? You need to get your screening colonoscopy!

Well-said from Dr. Harish Gagneja:
Chadwick Boseman was diagnosed with colon cancer at a very young age. Unfortunately, colon cancer is increasing in people younger than 50 by 2% a year. Average time from symptoms to diagnosis under age 50 is 271 days and over age 50 is 29 days. If you have any symptoms, please don't ignore. Stress doesn't cause re**al bleeding. Colon cancer is HIGHLY PREVENTABLE. Colonoscopy is the ONLY PREVENTIVE test, rest of the tests are for screening.

The cancer that killed Chadwick Boseman is the second-leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States, and rates are rising among younger people.

Austin has done so well maintaining social distancing that we are able to start reversing those restrictions! The Texas Medical Board and local hospitals have enabled us to resume elective surgeries starting Monday, April 27. We will be maintaining careful precautions to protect our staff and patients. Thanks to everyone who has been so patiently waiting! (No pun intended 😉)

Screening mammograms are so important to early breast cancer diagnosis and successful treatment. This helps make them more accessible to all Texas women.

I just contacted Governor Abbott & asked him to sign HB 170 into law which will eliminate the out-of-pocket costs for diagnostic mammography. We are almost there! Join me in taking action: []
