Did you know? Leah’s sister, Lauren Luke, is a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist!?

During a recent visit to her clinic with baby Josie, she shared some gentle exercises to support recovery and improve posture. These movements not only help with pelvic floor strength, but also ease the strain from breastfeeding positions.

She even offers a Mommy & Baby course, designed to support both postpartum healing and bonding time with your little one. 💕

Postpartum bleeding, also called lochia, is a normal part of recovery after both vaginal and cesarean births. Even after a C-section, the uterus still sheds this healing tissue. Knowing what’s normal and what’s not helps you recognize when to seek care.

✅ What’s expected:
-Lasts about 4–6 weeks
-Starts bright red, then turns pink, brown, and finally yellow/white
-Gradually becomes lighter over time

🚩 When to call your provider:
-Soaking a pad in under an hour
-Passing clots larger than a golf ball
-Bleeding that increases instead of decreases
-Foul-smelling discharge
-Dizziness, weakness, or feeling faint

💡 Pro tip: Start with mesh panties + large pads while bleeding is heavy, then switch to pads with regular underwear or period underwear as the flow lightens.

When my daughter had a terrible diaper rash, nothing seemed to soothe her. That’s when I pulled out one of my favorite mama hacks—using expired breastmilk for a bath.

Here’s why it works: breastmilk is full of natural antibodies, anti-inflammatory properties, and healthy fats that can calm irritation and support skin healing. It’s been used for generations to help with diaper rash, baby acne, eczema, and even scrapes.

So instead of tossing out milk that was past its “drink by” date, I added a few ounces into her warm bath water. Not only did it feel good knowing that the milk I worked so hard to pump or produce was still useful, but her skin was noticeably calmer afterward.

If you’ve got extra milk in the freezer you can’t use for feeding anymore, don’t throw it out—your little one’s skin might thank you for it.

Have you tried a breastmilk bath before?

Mamas here’s your reminder to hydrate 💧
Your body is working hard making milk ,healing during postpartum, building a tiny human from scratch, chasing little ones… and water is your superpower. Even if you aren’t producing milk or nursing a wee one, you still need the fluids!

While breastfeeding aim for about 16 cups or 128 ounces of fluids each day. While pregnant the goal is about 12 cups or 96 ounces daily. This can include water, milk , herbal tea, and even water rich foods like fruit and soups. Drinks high in caffeine or sugar, like soda, energy drinks, and most sweetened coffee beverages, do not fully count toward your total because they can be dehydrating.

Sip often, refill that cup, and thank yourself later 🫶

It’s been a rough couple of days over here.
My cycle came back at just 10 weeks postpartum, my milk supply took a nosedive, and my baby isn’t a huge fan of the bottle.

For all the moms riding that struggle bus — we see you, we’re with you, and you’re not alone. 🩸

If your supply dips during your period, here are a few gentle ways to help it bounce back:

-Nurse or pump more often (supply works on demand!)
-Stay hydrated and aim for nutrient-rich snacks
-Add in calcium + magnesium to help counter hormonal shifts
-Skin-to-skin time to stimulate milk-making hormones
-Power pumping sessions for a few days
-Herbs like Moringa and Shatavari can be very helpful but you need therapeutic dosages!
-Contact us for an IBCLC consult!

Your body is amazing, and this phase will pass. In the meantime, give yourself grace — you’re doing the best you can, and that’s enough.
- 💛 Leah

We know what you’re thinking…did I just read that right?? It’s true! Breast size doesn’t determine overall milk supply. 🍈🍈

Milk production relies on how much glandular (milk-making) tissue you have… not how big or small your breasts are. Size *can* determine your storage capacity but with frequent feedings, even smaller breasted women an produce tons of milk!

Frequent nursing or pumping signals your body to make more milk. So don’t stress if you’re an A-cup or a DD!
