Herbal Allies is an opportunity to indulge in just one bioregional herbal ally each evening, going more deeply than before with practical applications, historical references as well as those from other practicing herbalists all over the country, and a downloadable monograph for each plant. This is a new offering and we are very excited about it! Students enrolled in the on-going series will have the opportunity to suggest herbs for future classes!
Meets twice a month, September 2025 - May 2026, Thursday evenings on Zoom.
Herbal Allies is open to students with some prior herbal experience.

SJS Founder and instructor Ginger Webb has been deeply immersed in the study of herbs in central Texas for 30+ years and has supported hundreds to reconnect with the plant world as medicine. Since 2012, Sacred Journey School of Herbalism has offered in-depth herbalist programs to interested folx and new herbalists.

The school reflects Ginger’s deep love for the plants and for humanity; her study with the late great herbalist Michael Moore; her nerdy passion for botany, wild plants, and plant families; her years of experience making herbal medicines; her reverence for the wisdom of the ancients; and her belief that we all have access to the healing wisdom of the plant world simply by virtue of the fact that we are alive and share consciousness with all life.

🌿😮🌿Foundations of Herbalism begins on September 9th- Register now to reserve your spot!🌿

Foundations of Herbalism is the complete 9 month introductory level program offered by Sacred Journey School of Herbalism. There are two courses required to complete the Foundations program: Intro to Herbalism (online) and Wild Texas Herbalism (outdoors).
These courses can be taken in any order, or at the same time! No prior herbal experience is necessary to join us on this journey.

I grew up in these woodlands of northern New Jersey. When I began studying herbalism, my friendships with the plants deepened. I hardly ever make medicine when I’m visiting here, but for me so much of the medicine is just hanging out with these green friends of mine :-)

Lizard Tail everywhere! This unique and adorable native plant is a close cousin to our southwestern Yerba Mansa (Anemopsis californica) Saururaceae. I always see snakes when I’m visiting these plants 🐍 so I watch my step.

The purpose of this class is to introduce you to some standout herbs to have on hand (for home or travel). We also spend time discussing some common issues requiring first aid and herbal strategies to help resolve them- including what actions to look for in herbs. This way you can learn how to work with different herbs available to you if you do not have the exact herbs on our list! Registration includes the class video, a PDF of the slides and a list of herbs in a first aid kit we created several years back.
