Brielle Epstein-Midwife

Brielle Epstein-Midwife I am a Texas Licensed Midwife and Certified Professional Midwife. I have been attending births as a doula and midwife since 2003.

My goal as a midwife is to empower and support pregnant people in their childbirth decisions. Throughout your prenatal care I will provide you with clinical and educational information to help you make decisions for you and your baby.

Midwives Melek and Brielle have made the decision to step away from the large birth center practice. In an effort to create sustainable practices to support their individual needs and to provide the highest level of care to our community, both of our midwives are transitioning to solo homebirth practices.

Starting in May, they will each have independent practices that will serve homebirth clients in our community. They plan to continue assisting each other and supporting each other as midwives and friends.

Birthwise has THREE open spots for care before we transition to individual homebirth practices. We have 2️⃣ spots available in February and 1️⃣ spot available in March. Clients can deliver at home or at the birth center before the transition happens.

Happy International Day of the Midwife! At home, birth centers, and the hospital, midwives are an integral part of maternity care and their care is collaborative, compassionate, and life-saving. Thank you to all our wonderful midwives!

Please share and call your Senator if you live in one of these districts. If you live in Austin, please come to the Capitol on Wednesday at 8am to register your support for the bill. You will not need to stay for the hearing so it should only take a few minutes. Feel free to text or message me for more details.

It's been a very sweet week at Birthwise. I'm so grateful to have a partner that is continuing the lineage of gentle midwifery. She just knew that this papa needed to catch his own baby. The tenderness makes me weepy.

The second baby born yesterday, this star 🌟 child of light....words cannot describe the beauty of this labor and birth. Mother and father so connected spiritually, emotionally, lovingly. They were truly one throughout a long labor, he her strength when she needed it most. Watching this papa catch his daughter was truly one of the most emotional moments of my career. We are so glad you are here, baby girl. We have no doubt you will change the world 🌟💫✨

Please help if you can.

Welcome to the world, baby girl M, completing this couple’s “baby girl trifecta.” 👶🏼Her mom persevered through a longer early labor to achieve her dream of a vaginal birth following two previous cesareans and we were honored to support her on her journey.

It was a double header for us last night. We welcomed these two rocket 🚀 baby girls within about 3 hours of each other, both within less than 45 minutes of their mamas calling the midwives to their birth! Thankful for babies who take turns 🥰

Can’t get enough of this sweet family. And don’t you just love the look on Melek’s face? I’m so lucky to have a partner who loves our families as much as I do.

This makes me so happy!

This makes me so happy!

So it seems something was in the air in September of last year and there are A LOT of June babies coming, whew! We just can’t resist, so very exciting news....*drum roll* Chandra Fischer of First Memory Midwifery will be joining us for the month so that we can serve *all* the clients who have been contacting us and wanting to book. Many of you may recognize Chandra, as she completed her apprenticeship here in Austin before leaving for the frozen tundra of Minnesota. She is so dearly beloved in our community and we are definitely trying to lure her back 😉 So having said that, if you are due in June, we would love to be your midwives 💓
