Pelvic PT isn’t just what happens on the table—it’s also how you support your body in between sessions.

Here are 3 powerful (and realistic) ways to complement your healing at Empowered Movement Therapy:

💤 Prioritize sleep like it’s a prescription.
Your body does its best healing when you're sleeping.
Create a wind-down ritual. Limit screen time. Use pillows to support hips and belly.
More rest = less tension, better hormone balance, and faster recovery.

🚶‍♀️ Move gently, with awareness, not force
Walking, stretching, soft core and glute work, or even rolling on a yoga ball.
Gentle movement calms the nervous system and keeps circulation flowing. If you are aware of where you are in your cycle, you can ensure you’re providing your body with what it needs.

💨 Breathe to calm your nervous system and support your pelvic floor
Your breath is one of the fastest ways to regulate your pelvic floor and your nervous system.
Even 2 minutes a day of slow, intentional breathing can help reduce pain, calm urgency, and support core healing.

None of these are “extra.” They’re essential. And when paired with expert PT, they become your healing superpower.

✨ Want a simple home routine to feel more supported? DM me “RESET” and I’ll help you get started.

Let’s be honest, walking into a pelvic floor or women’s health PT session can feel... intimidating.
Will they just tell me to do Kegels? Will I have to get undressed? Will I even be heard?

At Empowered Movement Therapy, we do things differently.

✅ We start with your story
✅ We assess your body in motion, not just in a sterile room
✅ We co-create a plan that fits your life
✅ We look at your whole system—nervous system, hormones, movement, and more

No guessing. No shame. No cookie-cutter handouts.
Just real answers and care that honors your season of life.

If you’ve been told “everything looks normal” but you still don’t feel like yourself, it’s time for a different approach.

✨ DM me “RESET” to book your evaluation or ask a question.
You don’t have to figure it out alone.

Why is his breathing so loud?
Why is the light too bright?
Why does my bra feel like a prison?

Have you caught yourself asking or googling any of these questions? Then 2 or 3 days later, you get hit with cramps and your period?

The truth is: your luteal phase affects your nervous system, your digestion, your energy, and your emotions. It’s not just “PMS”... it’s biology. My Cycle Symptom Decoder breaks down what’s actually happening in each phase—so you can stop blaming yourself and start working with your body. DM me DECODE to grab it free and finally understand what your symptoms are really saying.

Your symptoms aren’t random. They’re your body’s language.
You’re not broken. Your body is trying to talk to you.

Here’s what it might be saying:

Bloating?
Could mean your liver is working overtime to process hormones like estrogen, or your progesterone (the calming, soothing hormone after ovulation) is too low to keep inflammation in check.

Cravings?
Your body might be chasing a blood sugar spike or trying to calm a stress response. When cortisol (your stress hormone) is high or your meals aren’t balanced, cravings are how your body copes.

Mood swings?
These often come from a drop in estrogen right before your period, but also from low levels of GABA, your brain’s “calm-down” chemical. GABA is supported by progesterone, so when progesterone dips or is low, your mood can crash too.

Cramping?
Meet prostaglandins, the chemicals your body releases to help shed the uterine lining. But too many prostaglandins = more inflammation = more pain. It’s like your uterus is trying to get the job done but calling in the wrecking crew instead of gentle movers. Can also be the cause of the dreaded “period poops.”

When you understand these shifts, you can stop fighting your body and start working with it.

That’s why I created the Cycle Symptom Decoder—a free guide to help you understand what’s common, what’s not normal, and what your body is actually asking for during each phase of your cycle.

Grab it free at the link in my bio.
This is where healing begins in your own body with understanding.

How do I know if my period is normal?

Here’s what’s generally considered normal:
3–7 days of bleeding
26–35 day cycles
Mild cramping, not life-disrupting pain
Minimal PMS, bloating, or extreme fatigue.

If your period leaves you curled up on the bathroom floor, skipping workouts, or feeling like you’re unraveling every month, I promise that that’s not normal. And it’s not something you have to live with. The Cycle Symptom Decoder helps you connect the dots and start asking better questions about your body.

If you’re doing all the “right” things and still struggling with pelvic floor symptoms… It’s time to zoom out. Your body isn’t broken. It’s responding to the input it’s been given—stress, tension, hustle. My 5-minute pelvic floor reset is a gentle, no-Kegel-needed practice that supports your vagus nerve, your breath, and your body. It allows you to meet your body where it’s at. This is the missing piece for so many women. DM to get a free copy. Start one day at a time and see how your body softens, shifts and resets from the inside out.

Let’s clear this up.
If you're leaking, feeling heaviness, or have pelvic pain... Kegels might NOT be the answer.
In fact, doing them blindly can make things worse.

Your pelvic floor needs coordination, not just “tighten and squeeze.”
That means breathwork, mobility, and nervous system regulation too.

Want to actually feel stronger, more connected, and in control?
Let’s reset the way we think about pelvic floor health.

Grab my free 2-Minute Pelvic Quiz to check in with yourself and see how you can take the next step to improving your pain and health!.
DM “QUIZ” to get it sent straight to you.

If your workouts feel harder some weeks, it’s not your mindset—it’s your menstrual phase. Your energy is cyclical. Your hormones affect your strength, endurance, mood, and even motivation. Within each phase, you have a different group of hormones at play which can affect mood, likes/dislikes and even training. Now, I also want to say that cycle syncing doesn’t necessarily mean you have to only do certain activities or eat certain things during specific phases; cycle syncing to me means that you are aware of what is happening in your body and you can move more intuitively, even if you’re lifting hard or training for a marathon or simply just hoping to maintain a routine.
