Our Story

Mary Mirto, D.O. has practiced in Austin since 2002. She received her medical degree from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was stationed at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas, and after finishing her time with the Army, moved to Austin where she had a private practice for 13 years. After closing her practice, she worked with OBGYN North from 2015-2018. In 2019, Dr. Mirto joined Baylor Scott & White Health. She currently sees patients at both the Austin North Burnet Clinic and the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Round Rock OBGYN Clinic, where she also delivers babies and performs surgery. She is excited to belong to a health care system that offers integrative medicine (including acupuncture and massage) and chiropractic care for her patients.

Dr. Mirto believes in a holistic and integrative approach to care. She has studied Integrative Medicine with an emphasis on Nutrition and how to incorporate alternative therapies such as Acupuncture, body work and herbs into treatment plans. She believes being healthy is more than not being sick. This is especially true for women after pregnancy and during the transition through menopause. Her special interests include the use of traditional medications and alternative therapies for menopausal issues and helping women improve their health through good daily self care choices.

Dr. Mirto is married and has two daughters. She lives with her family, a cat and two very spoiled dogs here in Austin. She loves live music, good food, travel and spending time with friends and family.
