Everyday Habits for a Happier Low Back

If your low back gets cranky by the end of the day, it’s not always about doing “more.” Often it’s about tiny switches you can make while doing what you already do.

Try these quick habit upgrades:
• Sitting: bring your hips to the back of the chair, feet grounded, and gently lengthen your spine (think “tall,” not “rigid”).
• Standing breaks: once an hour, take 60 seconds—stand, breathe, and reset your posture before you jump back in.
• Picking things up: use a hip-hinge—send hips back first, keep the item close, then stand with your legs instead of folding at the waist.
• Carrying: rotate sides (bag, toddler, laundry basket). Uneven loading adds up fast.

Why this matters: your spinal health is closely connected to your nervous system and overall health and wellness. When your body moves more efficiently, daily life tends to feel easier.

Save this for tomorrow morning, and share it with a friend who sits for work.

Save This When Tension Hits

When neck and shoulder tension spikes, your first move doesn’t have to be “push through.” Try this simple 1-minute breathing reset.

It’s called box breathing, and it’s easy to remember:
• Inhale for 4
• Hold for 4
• Exhale for 4
• Hold for 4

Repeat for 4 rounds.

A few tips to make it work better:
1) Drop your shoulders away from your ears.
2) Let your tongue rest on the roof of your mouth.
3) Keep your inhale quiet and smooth—no big gasps.

Why it matters: your nervous system responds to slow, steady breathing. When your body feels safer, it’s easier to release tightness and reset your posture.

Pair it with a quick posture check: screen at eye level, ribs stacked over hips, feet grounded.

Save this for the next stressful email, long drive, or end-of-day tightness—and share it with someone who carries tension in their shoulders.

Headache vs. Migraine: Quick Clues

If you’re stuck wondering “Is this just a headache or something more?” here are a few simple clues to help you notice patterns.

A common headache often feels like steady pressure or tightness, sometimes on both sides of the head. It may feel annoying but still allow you to push through your day.

A migraine tends to come with more “whole-body” signals. Some people notice throbbing pain, sensitivity to light or sound, nausea, or that moving around makes things feel worse. Others experience warning signs beforehand (like changes in vision or mood).

Try a quick tracking tip: jot down 3 things when symptoms hit—time of day, what you were doing (screens, stress, skipped meals), and what symptoms showed up (light sensitivity, nausea, one-sided pain). Patterns can be surprisingly helpful.

Spinal health and the nervous system play a big role in how your body processes stress, posture, and tension—so paying attention to these signals is part of health and wellness.

Save this for later and share with someone who’s always “powering through.”

Upper Cervical X-Rays: Clarity Before Care

When it comes to the upper neck, details matter. The upper cervical spine plays an important role in spinal health and the nervous system—so we don’t rely on assumptions.

X-rays give us a clear view of your unique alignment, helping us plan chiropractic care with purpose and precision. They also create a baseline so we can monitor progress over time. That means better guidance, more confidence in the process, and decisions rooted in objective information.

If you’ve been searching for a more measured, thoughtful approach to care—this step can make a big difference. Want to understand what your images say and how that shapes your care plan? Call to schedule your consultation.

Before reaching for your phone in the morning, take a few moments to wake your body up with gentle movement.

After sleeping for 7–8 hours, your joints and muscles have been in the same position for an extended period of time. Simple stretches in the morning can help increase circulation, loosen stiff muscles, and improve mobility so your body transitions more smoothly into the day.

Even just a few minutes of stretching can reduce tension in your neck, back, and hips and help you feel more energized as you start your morning.

If mornings feel stiff or uncomfortable, schedule an evaluation at Be Well Chiropractic and let us help get your body moving the way it was designed to, schedule a consultation at the link in our bio.

Vertigo is often linked to the tiny crystals in the inner ear that help control balance. When these crystals are affected, they can send confusing signals to the brain and create that spinning sensation.
But the atlas bone, the top bone in your neck, can also influence balance. If the atlas becomes misaligned, it may affect nerve communication and tension around the inner ear, which can contribute to dizziness or vertigo symptoms.

Sometimes vertigo isn’t just an inner ear issue, but a misalignment in the spine.

If you’re experiencing recurring dizziness or vertigo, schedule a consultation at Be Well
Chiropractic so we can evaluate whether spine alignment may be contributing to your
symptoms.

It’s not ‘just in your head.’
It’s in your nervous system — and that’s actually good news.

We’ve been trained to identify exactly where dysregulation shows up and how to gently guide your system back toward safety and regulation.

If you keep treating the muscle but the pain keeps coming back… this might be why.

Many people assume tight muscles are the cause of their pain. But often, the real issue can start with a joint or bone being out of alignment, which causes the surrounding muscles to tighten and compensate.

That’s why a massage or stretching may bring temporary relief, but the discomfort keeps coming back.

If tight muscles keep coming back no matter what you try, it may be time to check your
alignment.
