It is time for our yearly holistic continuing education conference and so far it continues to be eye opening. The first lecture was about microplastics. So much to share but hard in a insta post. Lately there have been more and more appearances of this kind of tongue tie, and as you can see it causes discomfort in the baby and in the mom. These ties can impact breast-feeding motion in the baby’s tongue and can cause pain on the mother’s breast.

Silver Nitrate (the fluoride free version of silver diamine fluoride) is a non invasive procedure to help stop tooth decay by killing the bacteria that cause cavities. It hardens and stabilizes weakened tooth structure, slowing further breakdown. By controlling infection, it can help prevent decay from progressing deeper into the tooth. Comprehensive pediatric dental services, laser frenectomy surgery, & braces offered by Dr. Evy, a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. She is fully dedicated to her practice furthering her education in holistic dentistry, braces (orthodontics), and airway problems exacerbated by dental malocclusions and underdevelopment. Dr. Evy has extensive experience with laser frenectomy procedures for newborn babies, children,& adolescents. Dr. Evy is excited to introduce holistic dental procedures for her little patients to help their bodies achieve overall health throughout their childhood, adolescence, and ultimately into adulthood. She believes that exposing patients to the most biocompatible materials available is essential during the years of greatest growth and development. She believes in truthful medically needed dentistry and is committed to provide your child with oral care that is necessary for the appropriate age, stage of development, and extent of decay present.

We are pleased to promote a positive environment to help your child develop a positive experience as they begin their journey to maintain a healthy smile as part of an overall lifestyle. We understand children present with their own individual physical, intellectual, emotional, and social abilities as well as individual attitudes and temperament. Therefore it is important to resort to wide range of guidance techniques during their dental visit to meet the needs of every child. Although we employ different techniques, one most commonly used which works for the majority of children is the tell-show-do approach. We are also proud to provide pediatric dentistry with a holistic touch for the Southwest Austin, Oak Hill, Cedar Valley, and Dripping Springs communities.
