Gynecomastia surgery is all about two things: 1) removing the glandular tissue that is causing a female shape to the male chest and 2) leaving behind enough fat on the chest to support the skin above the muscles to create a natural contour.

Our patient today looked at his glands after surgery and thought that they would be bigger. And it occurred to me that a lot of people think we are coring out every piece of tissue in the chest. Thats a bad idea. There has to be enough tissue left behind to help create a natural surface for the skin to glide on over the muscles. If it get stuck down to the muscle it doesn’t look right. The tissues don’t glide. We take steps to decrease the risk of this happening with the flaps of fat under the muscles and leaving enough tissue behind the ar**la.

What happens if your breast lift scar just isn't for you? There are a number of options to treat a breast lift scar and the majority of the time they respond well to the other treatments but in the case of widened scares or hypertrophic scars then a scar revision may be needed. This is the most invasive option but it's the only way to get a better appearing scar if the scar doesn't turn out well after surgery. This type of treatment for a breast lift scar is rare in my practice but the very few times it has been done the second scar turns out great and fades very well.

How is a Skinny BBL different than a regular BBL? A skinny BBL will be different in how we obtain the fat and where we get it from. A skinny BBL can require harvesting fat from areas like the thighs and from the arms in order to have enough fat to make the transfer to your buttock region worthwhile.

Laser your breast lift scars! This treatment is certainly an option for helping make your breast lift scars less noticeable. The laser produces small injuries to the surrounding skin allowing new fresh skin to grow into the area which in turn will help to soften the appearance of your scar.

If you don't love your breast lift scars after your breast lift there are options like RF micro needling and Skin Pen treatments that can help make your scars much softer in appearance and help make you feel more confident about your results.

RF micro needling and the skin pen cause small injuries to the scar resulting in remodeling of the scar itself which leads to a less noticeable scar.

Is a Skinny BBL right for you? You might think you don't have enough fat fro a Brazilian Butt Lift but you might be surprised. A good candidate for a skinny BBL has a BMI in the 22 to 25 range and has pockets of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise.

The silicone scar strip is the unsung hero of scar treatments. Starting about three weeks after a breast lift I encourage my patients to start using silicone scar strips to help soften the appearance of their scars. With consistent use these strips can help fade a scar to almost nothing and help your scars avoid being the center piece of your final results.

A demure amount of filler goes a long way when it comes to the lips. My favorite fillers to use are Restylane L for first timers or those looking for a modest amount of fill, but for those looking for a bit more pop Restylane Kysse is my go to. Our look today was accomplished with less than 1 mL of filler split between the upper and lower lips.

What's a Skinny BBL? If you are thinking about getting a Brazilian Butt Lift but aren't sure if you have enough fat then a Skinny BBL might be an option. People with a lower BMI of 22 to 25 often will have stubborn deposits of fat that won't go away with diet and exercise. Liposuction of these areas will help improve your contours and then we can use the fat to help fill in your hip dips, giving you more curves and some projection to your backside.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Pearce is proud to once again call Austin, Texas home after time away completing his surgical training. Dr. Pearce completed six years of General Surgery training at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ which allowed him to train at many high level institutions in the NJ and NYC area, including the world renowned Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. His training continued with his acceptance to The University of Texas Health Science Center Plastic Surgery program in San Antonio, Texas where he trained extensively in both Cosmetic and Reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Pearce performs all aspects of cosmetic surgery such as hair transplantation, facelifts, neck lifts, blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, brachioplasty, body contouring, liposuction, body lifts, and thigh lifts. He has also provides injectable treatments such as BOTOX, Kybella, and injectable fillers such as Juvaderm.

Pearce Plastic Surgery is also the only practice in Austin Texas offering the ARTAS iX Robotic Hair Restoration system. The ARTAS iX System allows both men and women to achieve their goals of hair restoration with minimal down time and discomfort.
