Earth Day 🌍✨

A gentle reminder to reconnect with yourself through the world around you.

It can look like slowing down, stepping outside, or paying attention to the world around you in small, intentional ways.

A few ways to reconnect today:
• take a walk outside 🚶‍♀️🌿
• sit outside and notice nature sounds 🌳👂
• feel the sun, air, or ground beneath you ☀️🌬️🌱
• pick up a piece of litter (if you see one) 🧤🗑️
• bring a reusable bag or cup with you today 🛍️☕️
• care for a plant or flowers 🌱🌸
• look up at the moon and stars tonight 🌙✨
• reflect on your favorite season 🍂🌷

Even when large-scale change feels out of reach, small ways of connecting can bring a sense of presence and care.

At COAC, we offer s*x therapy as a collaborative, affirming process that can support individuals and couples navigating:

• desire differences
• communication around intimacy
• shame, guilt, or anxiety related to s*x
• changes in s*xuality or identity
• past experiences or trauma impacting connection

Our approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and tailored to your unique experiences — because there is no “one way” to experience intimacy.

If you’re curious about s*x therapy or wondering if it could be helpful for you, we’re here to support that exploration.

Friday’s new moon in Aries holds a lot of power connected to the Aries archetype.

The Sun and Moon meet near Chiron, the Wounded Healer, bringing up themes around pain, healing, identity, voice, and self-expression. This alone makes the lunation potent, but there is even more intensity because Mercury, Mars, Saturn, and Neptune are also gathered in Aries.

That combination can feel like a push to act, speak, or begin something new — while also bringing pressure, challenge, or confusion about how to move forward.

At the same time, there is support in the chart. Venus in Ta**us s*xtile Jupiter in Cancer points to safety, trust, nurturing, and belonging through the body, the home, and supportive relationships. There is bold energy here, but also an invitation to stay grounded while something new is still forming.

A few reflection questions from Jené:

What are you being called to initiate?
How are your passions connected to your wounds?
What support, structure, or boundaries do you need right now?
Which relationships are helping your vision grow?

And her core advice:
Do not force your dreams and passions into movement. Everything beautiful takes time. Stay connected to your body, your needs, and the people who help you feel supported as you move through this energy.

IFS (Internal Family Systems), sometimes used as “parts work,” is a therapy approach based on the idea that we all have different “parts” within us.

You might notice parts like an inner critic, a people-pleasing part, or an avoidant or protective part — each with its own role and way of responding.

In IFS, these parts are understood as different ways your system has learned to cope and protect you. Some parts carry pain from past experiences, while others work to manage or avoid that pain.

Rather than trying to get rid of these parts, IFS helps you understand them — what they’re trying to do, and why.

The goal is to build a more compassionate relationship with yourself, so you can respond with more clarity, flexibility, and intention.

Interested in exploring IFS?
You can work with one of our IFS-informed clinicians at COAC.

Your body has built-in systems designed to support your mood, motivation, and overall well-being.

These “feel-good” chemicals — dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, and endorphins — aren’t things we can control directly, but there are everyday habits that can help support how they function over time.

🧠 Dopamine (motivation & reward)
Supports focus, drive, and a sense of accomplishment

💕 Oxytocin (connection & bonding)
Strengthens relationships and feelings of trust

☀️ Serotonin (mood & stability)
Helps regulate mood, sleep, and overall balance

💪 Endorphins (stress & pain relief)
Released during movement, laughter, and other enjoyable activities

Small, consistent habits — like getting outside, moving your body, connecting with others, and taking care of yourself — can have a meaningful impact over time.

Sometimes what looks like “coping” is really avoiding.
And sometimes, avoiding is something we do when we don’t yet feel safe to feel. That’s human.

✨ The key isn’t perfection—it’s awareness.
When we pause to ask: Is this helping me heal, or helping me avoid? we begin to choose differently.

Healing starts with honesty. And self-compassion. 🌿
You’re allowed to take small steps—at your pace.

Our Inner Work Series in partnership with Open Form Yoga is coming up, and Session 1 is just around the corner.

This workshop, Understanding Your Inner Patterns & Protective Parts, is designed to help you better understand the patterns that show up in your emotions, behaviors, and relationships — and where they come from.

Through a combination of guided reflection, journaling, small group discussion, and gentle, optional body-based practices, you’ll begin to explore your internal world with more awareness and self-compassion.

This is an experiential space — not just something you’ll learn about, but something you’ll actively engage in.

No yoga experience is needed, and all movement is optional.
