For years, it’s been our founder, Ellen Smith, behind the messages, connecting with you here on Instagram. As she steps into a new chapter and leaves the retreat, she’s written a heartfelt goodbye to share with you:
"How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."
~ A.A. Milne (Winnie-the-Pooh)
After 25 years of shepherding the Texas Yoga Retreat, I have made the decision to step away from my business partnership with Charles MacInerney. This means that I will no longer be involved with the retreat.
Those of you who know me know that I have put my whole heart into the Texas Yoga Retreat, so leaving the retreat was a big decision, one that I heartfully and thoughtfully considered for some time.
Throughout these past years, it has been my privilege to oversee most of the logistics and operations of the retreat. This has included connecting with many of you directly about your retreat needs (one of the things I’ve loved most), selecting presenters, working directly with the ashram regarding planning, accommodations
and meals, communications across our website, newsletters, social media and marketing, financial oversight, and working closely with our incredibly talented Ambassador team who contribute so much behind the scenes.
The main thing I want to leave you with is my heartfelt gratitude. I’m grateful for the friendships, community, connections, and shared transformational experiences. Your participation has created a ripple effect of peace
and love across the world. It has truly mattered to me. You matter to me.
The retreat will continue, with Charles at the helm, with my wishes for its continued success.
I continue with my yoga teaching and intuitive mentoring coaching practice, both of which give me purpose and joy, just as organizing the retreat has for so many years.
If you wish to stay in touch, please do not reply to this newsletter, as your reply will go to the business email. Instead, feel free to reach out to me personally at ebsmithtx@gmail.com.
With gratitude,
Ellen
