🌟 Texas Senator Royce West Named Health Center Legislative Champion! 🌟

TACHC proudly honored Senator Royce West (D-Dallas, District 23) with our Health Center Legislative Champion Award at Prism Health North Texas’ Oak Cliff Health Center in Dallas.

👏 Senator West was recognized for his leadership during the 89th Texas Legislative Session, where he authored SB 646—a bill signed into law by Governor Abbott on June 22, 2025. This landmark legislation expands eligibility for the Mental Health Professionals Loan Repayment Program, boosts repayment amounts, and adds stipends for providers serving rural communities or offering bilingual care.

In honor of Su***de Awareness Month, TACHC staff came together to assemble over 50 mental health kits filled with journals, coloring books, stress balls, and encouraging notes — all designed to support mental well-being.

These kits are on their way to our member centers Gateway Community Health Center and Community Health Development, Inc. health centers, where they’ll provide comfort and care to people in their community.

🎀 Over 100 guests came together on September 5 for the first-ever Big Pink Benefit, presented by Lone Star Circle of Care This vibrant event raised critical funds for the Big Pink Bus, a mobile unit providing life-saving breast cancer screenings to women across Central Texas. 🚌💗 From boutique shopping to auctions and guided bus tours — it was an unforgettable day of support and impact.
