How soon can you get back to the gym after a breast augmentation? 🍒🏋️‍♀️
Dr. Fisher breaks it down: recovery depends on your surgical plan. Patients with a dual plane augmentation (under the muscle) will need more healing time than those with implants placed above the muscle.
In both cases, the most important step is the same — take the first week to truly rest at home. Giving your body the chance to recover properly sets the stage for the best results long term.
Every patient’s journey is unique, and Dr. Fisher will guide you on the safest timeline to return to your workout routine.

Dr. Fisher explains why silicone tape is a game-changer for scar healing after breast reduction surgery.
Silicone tape helps flatten, fade, and smooth scars over time—but timing matters! You’ll want to wait until after the 6-week mark to begin using it, once your incisions are fully closed and healed.
As always, follow your surgeon’s specific guidance for the best results. 💗

She was named a 2017 Texas Super Doctor®.
Dr. Fisher is committed to providing the same care to her patients that she would want for her own family. Her goal is to provide personalized, compassionate care while safely achieving the best possible aesthetic outcome for each patient. Her artistry and keen attention to detail combine to make this possible. Dr. Fisher graduated medical school with honors from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to complete her training in plastic and reconstructive surgery. She trained in microsurgical perforator flap (DIEP flap) breast reconstruction at Magee-Womens Hospital and studied microsurgical lymph node transfer to treat upper extremity lymphedema with Dr. Corrine Becker in Paris. Dr. Fisher has an affinity for the precision and artistry of plastic surgery and its potential to help improve and restore a patient’s form, function and confidence.
Dr. Fisher won the Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award twice and the Department of Plastic Surgery teaching award three times. She has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in topics ranging from regenerative medicine to patient safety. She regularly attends national breast and microsurgery meetings to stay up to date on the latest research and uses an evidence-based approach to provide optimal, state-of-the-art care.
