One of our many wonderful events this spring was Go, Baby, Go! Sponsored by the Magic of Michael and the Hirschbeck Family, electric cars are built for little ones with disabilities. Several of our MCBDD Early Intervention families qualified for cars and were able to get them customized just for their child. Don't worry, the parents control the cars, and everyone has fun! Thanks to our EI staff for helping out on the day the kids (parents) test the cars and drive them away. So many smiles!

A big shout out to Andrew Garber on National School Principals' Day! The top guy at Leonard Kirtz School came to us from Robert Bycroft School in Columbiana County about a year ago. By the smiles on the faces of staff and students, he is doing a great job! Keep up the good work!

Russell Pavlov is 45 and a 1999 graduate of Struthers High School, but at The Purple Cat everyone calls him Radar. About 20 years ago Radar began receiving services from MCBDD, and that led him to The Purple Cat where he has found a place, writing for the newsletter, cleaning, greeting people who come in the front door, and even talking on Golden String Radio. Radar says it has all been life-changing. He is our success story this month.

If you had to open a jar, and you only had one good hand, how would you do that? This is what kids in Poland were tackling when they were visited by William Clark and the MCBDD Outreach team earlier this year. William talks to kids about DD Awareness, technology that makes the DD world easier, navigating friendships, and all kinds of disability-related topics. If you want the Outreach Team to visit your school or organization, call us at 330-797-3051.
