Life Skills Hack: Independent life skills can be difficult for may individuals with disabilities. Here’s a tip for anyone struggling with temperature control for showers. Several years ago we moved and Hudson’s shower had changing lights. He told me it changed based on the temperature. He was 5 at the time and I didn’t believe him, I thought they were just colors for fun. He told me to try and guess what…he was right!! As the water was cold, the shower head light was blue. If it got too hot, it turned red. You moved it and waited for the green light to know the water temperature was right. So, if you know someone that struggles to get the water temperature right, this is a great (and fairly inexpensive) visual tool to help. ❤️

In case anyone was wondering what our WHY is… here it is right here! Look at these happy faces 🥰. All the hard work, long nights, fighting through every road block.. it’s all so worth it to hear these babies say a word for the first time, go down the slide for the first time, play with other for the first time, be able to walk in public without holding a hand for the first time… so many first we get to experience and that’s our WHY!

Reminder, we have our support group meetings every last Thursday of the month (which is tomorrow)! We hope to see all of those who have been with us before and hope to see some new faces as well!
