SIT Service Dogs

SIT Service Dogs Support and Independence through Teamwork Recipients often report a greater sense of control, confidence, and independence after being partnered with a dog.

Sit (Support & Independence through Teamwork) trains and places service dogs with people who have physical disabilities. We work from an all encompassing paradigm; a service dog needs to assist their human partner not only through performing daily tasks such as turning on lights, opening doors, or retrieving dropped objects, but needs to provide a level of comfort and social support to their people. Our dogs are trained assist with the daily chores that most mobility dogs perform as well as recognize/respond to withdrawn behaviors, anxiety, and episodic depression. This means more trips to the movies, out to dinner, shopping, and new adventures!

Cleo noticed the shift before anyone else did.
When her handler’s depression gets heavy, she steps in with trained interrupting behaviors—nudging, leaning in, and staying close until the moment passes.
This is more than comfort. This is skilled work, practiced over time, helping create space to breathe again. 💙🐾

Babs is rocking out to "Push It" while expertly pushing those accessible door buttons! 🎶 It's amazing to see how service dogs help open up the world, literally! This pupper is making everyday tasks so much easier and more fun. Seriously, how cute is Babs living their best life with that iconic song? Hope everyone's day is as smooth and accessible as this!
