Why Does the Temporal Area Change With Age — And How Do We Treat It?

As we age, the face goes through a process called skeletonization. This means:

• Bone remodeling occurs
• Fat pads diminish
• Ligaments weaken
• Skin becomes more lax
• Muscle structure changes

These changes make certain areas of the face appear more prominent — including the zygomatic bones, jawline, but some areas like temporal region develops concavities. This is why some patients feel they look more tired or notice hollowing in the temporal area.

The temporal area is delicate and highly individualized. Treatment is never “one size fits all.”

Beautiful lips for our gorgeous client 🥰

▫️ Before: Lips previously treated by another provider. Even though the lips looked fine from the front, a very small amount of filler above the upper lip contour subtly altered her natural lip shape. This excess caused the upper lip to shift inward toward the mouth, which becomes noticeable in three-quarter views

▫️ Step 1 – Dissolving: We dissolved the unwanted filler above the lip to restore a clean, natural contour.

▫️ Healing phase: We allowed the lips to fully heal after dissolving before moving forward.

▫️ Step 2 – Rebuilding: Once healed, we placed lip filler to create the exact shape and balance the client desired — soft, harmonious, and natural.

As we age — especially in today’s stressful lifestyle — we overuse depressor muscles. These muscles constantly pull the face downward, and this imbalance is one of the key mechanisms of facial aging.

❓What we do is restore harmony between depressor muscles and elevator muscles.
