🌟Dissolving Lip Filler: What You Need to Know🌟
In this video, we’re talking about hyaluronidase (Hylenex) — a powerful and essential tool in aesthetic medicine that allows us to safely dissolve hyaluronic acid filler when needed.
At our clinic, we often see patients who were treated elsewhere and are unhappy with their results — especially when it comes to lip filler migration, also known as the “hyaluronic mustache.”
✨ In these cases, dissolving the filler is not just an option — it’s a necessary step to restore natural anatomy before creating beautiful, balanced lips again.
Here’s what’s important to understand:
✔️ Results are not instant or fully predictable
Even with small, precise amounts, we cannot guarantee exactly how much filler will dissolve in one session. It depends on:
• The amount of filler present
• The type and density of the filler
• How many times filler has been done over the years
✔️ We take a conservative, staged approach
We usually recommend 2–3 sessions to gradually dissolve the area and achieve the best foundation for future treatment.
✔️ Filler vs. fibrous tissue
Firmness above the lip contour is not always leftover filler. In many cases, it’s fibrous connective tissue that forms around hyaluronic acid over time.
This is more common in the area above the lip because the skin there has a different structure compared to the lip itself — an important detail when planning correction.
✔️ Technique matters
Treating lips that have never had filler is completely different from treating lips that have had previous filler and dissolving.
Each case requires an individualized plan and precise technique to achieve a balanced, natural outcome.
💎 Our approach
Once the area is properly dissolved and healed, we can then restore the lips using our signature technique, creating a clean, defined, and naturally beautiful result — without migration or heaviness.
