Tomorrow is National Coffee Day!☕

New research shows that drinking 2–3 cups of black coffee a day may reduce your risk of developing heart disease, stroke, and diabetes by up to 40–48%.

Here’s why:
Coffee contains antioxidants that help reduce inflammation and support blood vessel health.

It’s been linked to lower blood sugar and improved metabolic function.
Black coffee gives you the benefits without added sugar or heavy cream.

☕ Drink it black (or with minimal additions)
☕ Limit to 3 cups per day
☕ Enjoy it earlier in the day to avoid sleep disruptions
Coffee can be a smart part of your heart-healthy lifestyle—when consumed the right way.

Risk factors like high blood pressure and unhealthy cholesterol are key contributors to cardiovascular disease, but a nutrient-rich diet that includes fresh fruit, like mango, has long been shown to help reduce those risks.

This study shows that even short-term changes—like eating fresh mangos daily—can make a measurable impact on chronic disease risk in certain populations.

There are no guarantees that mangoes will promote heart health, but if you like them, eat them!

😴 Trouble Sleeping? Your Heart and Health Could Benefit from These Exercises

Experiencing insomnia is more common than you might think, and poor sleep can take a toll not only on your energy but also on your heart health. A new meta-study has found that certain exercises are highly effective in improving sleep quality and reducing insomnia.

✅ Yoga showed the strongest positive effects, helping participants fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.
✅ Tai Chi had the most long-lasting benefits, supporting healthy sleep patterns over time.
✅ Even simple activities like walking and jogging proved beneficial for improving rest and overall well-being.

Better sleep supports better heart health. By adding movement to your daily routine, you can reduce stress, improve circulation, and give your body the restorative rest it needs.

Today we honor and remember the lives lost and the heroes who emerged on September 11, 2001. Patriot Day is a time to reflect on courage, resilience, and the strength of our communities.

While we remember, it’s also a reminder to take care of ourselves and each other—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Stress and grief can affect heart health, so small steps like connecting with loved ones, practicing mindfulness, and staying active matter.

🆘 This Is the No. 1 Heart Attack Symptom People Ignore, Doctors Say

Heart disease is still the leading cause of death in the United States, claiming a life every 34 seconds. What may surprise many is that heart attacks do not always begin with dramatic pain. They often start with subtle sensations that are easy to dismiss.

Instead of sharp pain, many people report discomfort, pressure, or tightness. It can feel like a heaviness or fullness in the chest that just seems “off.” This feeling can also appear in other areas such as the neck, jaw, shoulders, or arms.

Other warning signs that are often overlooked include:

💦Unexplained sweating

🤢Nausea or indigestion

😷Feeling unwell or short of breath

These symptoms are especially common in older adults and women. They should never be ignored.

If you or someone you know experiences any of these symptoms, act quickly. Call 911 or seek medical care right away. Early recognition saves lives.

💧 Seltzer Water: A Smart, Heart‑Healthy Swap

Thinking of cutting out soda? Unsweetened seltzer (or sparkling) water is a great alternative—hydrating, calorie-free, and better for your heart.

Why it’s a smart choice:
• Gloriously hydrating—just as effective as still water and more fun to drink
• The bubbles can boost feelings of fullness, helping curb overeating
• Can ease indigestion and constipation for some people
• Sugar-free substitute that helps you avoid added sugars linked to heart disease

A few things to watch for:
• Bloating or mild gas for those with sensitive digestion
• Slight acidity could affect tooth enamel over time—using a straw and rinsing with water can help

Tips for a heart-healthy sip:
• Stick with plain, unsweetened seltzer or sparkling water
• Add fresh fruit, herbs, or cucumber for natural flavor
• Swap one daily soda for a bubbly glass—and let the hydration begin!
