MEDICAL ASSISTANT

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team immediately. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced medical office environment.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience using the MEDENT Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Key Responsibilities:
• Clinical Duties:
• Room patients, obtain and record vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate, temperature), and update medical histories in the MEDENT EMR system.
• Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments, including minor procedures like skin biopsies or injections.
• Provide patient education on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
• Maintain clean and stocked examination rooms, adhering to infection control protocols.
• Administrative Duties:
• Accurately document patient interactions, test results, and provider notes in the MEDENT EMR system.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage follow-up visits using MEDENT scheduling tools.
• Assist with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and processing patient payments.
• Answer phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and perform clerical tasks such as scanning, faxing, and filing.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification preferred but not required.
• Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting preferred.
• MEDENT EMR Knowledge: Familiarity with the MEDENT EMR system strongly preferred;
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and healthcare team members.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in computer skills, including data entry and navigating electronic health records.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including potential evenings or weekends, depending on clinic needs.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
• Valid driver’s license may be required for travel between clinic locations (if applicable).
