SALT LAKE CITY, UT: *Please Share!* Humboldt is a tiny, people-loving fella. Humboldt has some vision impairment and, due to this, combined with his small size, he is better suited for an adult-only home with those who can be mindful of his whereabouts and vulnerability. Humboldt enjoys bonding with his people and will have no problems settling in quickly to a forever home. He just needs to find one.... PLEASE SHARE!
The Utah Animal Advocacy Foundation wrote, "Humboldt, a 12-ish year old Chihuahua, is looking for a place to spend his golden years. We have had him in our program for 5 months. He has only been available for adoption for about a month and a half due to trying to get his medical issues under control. His overall health was not good when he came to Animal Advocacy and it was obvious that he had been neglected in his prior life in California.
Humboldt would be a great friend for someone who is looking for a super companion who will give you loads of love and companionship. Humboldt would love to be somebody’s one and only dog companion. He is aggressive towards other dogs. He has not been cat tested. He just prefers the company of his human companion. Humboldt wouldn’t do well in a home with small children and he doesn’t do well with stairs. To keep him safe and sound, he should sleep in a crate at night. He’s happy to give you a noisy grump when he’s hungry and wants to be fed.
Humboldt is vision impaired, but not completely blind and can find his way around when there is adequate light. His overall health was not good when he came to Animal Advocacy and it was obvious that he had been neglected in his prior life in California. With healthy food, appropriate medications and lots of love, Humboldt is well enough to search for his forever home. He does need medications and eye drops going forward that will cost about $140 a month.
Humboldt has been neutered, is current on vaccinations, has tested negative for heartworm and has been microchipped.
We will do out of state adoptions. We do require a virtual home check, and the adopter to travel to UT and accompany the animals home."
