Cathy’s journey into healthcare began long before she ever imagined it would become her life’s work. In high school, she worked at Willoway Nursery, spending long days outside in Ohio weather. It didn’t take long for her to realize it wasn’t where she belonged. One day, while flipping through the classifieds, she noticed a job advertisement for STNA training. Something about it immediately spoke to her, and she felt an instant pull toward the work. That decision changed everything.
Nearly 30 years later, Cathy is still doing what she loves. For the past 19 years, she’s been a dedicated member of the Sprenger Healthcare family, working in the memory care unit at Main Street Care Center where she has become a familiar, comforting presence. To the residents and their families, Cathy is more than a caregiver. She is someone they trust deeply, someone who treats them like family.
For Cathy, this role has never been just a job. It’s a calling. She finds joy in every part of her day, whether she’s helping a resident get ready for the day, sitting down to listen to their stories, or simply sharing a quiet conversation. Those moments, big and small, are what makes her work meaningful.
Cathy also takes great pride in training new STNA‘s. She’s eager to pass along the same kindness, patience, and support that’s been shown to her since she joined Sprenger Healthcare in 2007. Through her compassion and dedication, Cathy continues to shape, not only the lives of our residents, but also future caregivers who learn by her example.
