Last week, The Ganzhorn Suites hosted our Champagne & Shop for a Cure fundraiser benefiting the Alzheimer's Association. Guests enjoyed champagne, charcuterie, desserts, shopping, and even had the chance to create their own hand-stamped leather bookmarks.

Thanks to the generosity of our community and the FOUNT Gives Back Program, nearly $4,900 in purchases were made, resulting in a donation of $984.12 directly to the Alzheimer’s Association.

We are so grateful to everyone who joined us and supported this meaningful cause. Together, we are helping fund research, education, and resources for those living with Alzheimer’s disease.

Tea, Treats & Cheers at Ganzhorn Suites Avon ✨
We had such a delightful afternoon with a Tea Party Pageant hosted alongside a local cheer team! Residents and guests enjoyed playing silly bingo, savoring delicious pastries, and sipping on refreshing flavored iced tea.

The cheer team brought extra sparkle to the day, showcasing their favorite outfits on the “runway” and impressing us with a few cheers. Their energy and enthusiasm were contagious, and our residents loved every moment.

Thank you to everyone who joined us—it was truly an afternoon filled with laughter, joy, and community!

With traditional Hawaiian music playing throughout the community, festive luau decor set the stage for our delicious Polynesian cuisine, created by our amazing culinary staff. Our feast included Hawaiian bourbon chicken, rice, and savory potatoes all served in a pineapple boat with coconut cake dessert! 🍍🥥

Fun and good eats were enjoyed by all!

Caring for someone living with dementia can be both rewarding and challenging. As the condition progresses, behavioral changes may occur that are confusing or distressing for both the person living with dementia and the caregiver. This lecture will provide an evidence-based framework so participants will be able to understand, assess, and manage these behaviors in different settings.
Dr. Scharre will explore practical & person- centered strategies to support both individuals living with dementia and the professionals and family members who care for them.
Who Should Attend:
• Memory care and assisted living staff
• Occupational and speech therapists
• Case managers and home health professionals
• Anyone involved in dementia care or care planning
This presentation is open to the community and healthcare professionals.
The program is approved for 1.0 CEUs for nurses and social workers.

Simone, our dedicated Human Resource Coordinator, has officially earned her CEAL certification. The Ohio Certified Executive for Assisted Living (CEAL) program is a comprehensive credential that enhances the knowledge and leadership of assisted living professionals across the state.

We’re also thrilled to share that Maurionna has passed her NCLEX exam and is now a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)! Maurionna has been a valued member of The Ganzhorn Suites team for the past three years, formerly serving as a caregiver.

These achievements reflect the passion, dedication, and continued growth of our exceptional team. Congratulations, Simone and Maurionna—we’re so proud of you both!

At The Ganzhorn Suites Powell, our gardens are more than just beautiful outdoor spaces—they're a reflection of the meaningful moments and routines that bring our residents joy.

Many of our residents love spending time among the flowers, whether it's pulling a few weeds, admiring the blooms, or simply enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. For one gentleman in particular, caring for the gardens has become a treasured part of his day. If the forecast calls for sunshine, we remind him that the gardens need watering because this task brings him such joy.

This is person-centered care in action: recognizing what brings fulfillment to each individual and making it part of their daily life. We’re grateful for the moments like these that grow naturally in our community—just like our gardens. 🌿
